Is this still halo

Let me say this as a fan that preordered and waited around for the first Halo game and clocked an extensive amount of time in Halo 2’s live multiplayer.

"I am vastly frightened that after I play Halo 4 I will have to say goodby to calling it part of the Halo series or any other game by 343 industries. As it looks to play so much more different from what I know and love. I’m trying not to jump to conclusions as I believed up till now it would play Like Halo 2, I was wrong to think that aren’t I as it looks to me your no longer going for greatness but for Call of Duty in space.

I liked the game when it was balanced and simple. The game was skillful and competitive favorite towards MLG players. Halo has had a fan base that was chill and respected in my eyes. Not full of 11 year-old kids or rednecks with no lives who RAGE, T-BAG, CHEAT, or HARASS players.

It’s a lot of change for one game: Constant sprint, load outs, weapon attachments, Removal of weapon placements and addition of drops, quick spawns and in game joining and nonpenalised quitting. Alot of what made Halo stand out is being removed to its more fast paced and I can see the balance and skill being removed with this.

Knowing the weapon placements took more skill as you had to know when and where they were and how to control the map. I can see my teammates already rushing to the drop and dieing only to quickly respawn and sprint to their death there again and again and again and again. I can see having to try out every friking gun combination to see whats right and will have to face loads of different unbalanced weapons fireing down on me. I can see being in a game and owning the other team till they rage quit or joining games with only 30 second remaining."

I ask you think about how Halo 2 fans would react, put in a fail safe for if our reaction is horrid you can fix the game till then I wish you luck as Im still 60% sure the game will some how be fine but know 40% is still alot. SIDE NOTE I want infamous medals so that they will follow people everywhere in their records.

Well at least you’re looking at this logically and from a relatively Neutral stand-point, it’s a welcome sight, it truly is…

I don’t really have anything to say that could make you feel better about the situation, the situation being:

> -Too many concepts being thrown out without any Clarification of how they will actually behave

…but I will just throw out how I’d imagine certain things would work for the hell of trying…

> Custom Loadouts
> -BR
> -DMR
> -Assault Carbine
> -Covenant Carbine
> -Assault Rifle
> -Plasma Rifle
> -Pistol
> -Plasma Pistol

And as for the Gameplay Changing Customization for the Armour, the way I see it, these “Gameplay Changes”, won’t be the likes of:

-Not appearing on Radar Permanently
-50% quicker reloads
-500% more ammo
-2x Shields

I’d like to think that it would be more along the lines of:

-5-10% quicker reloads
-2-3 Extra Ammo Clips for deployed weapons
-5-10% quicker Shield Recharge
-Jump 5-10% Higher/Further
-Sprint 5-10% quicker

You get the idea, alter something slightly rather than drastically…

--------------------------------------------------------------It’s Swaggie Time--------------------------------------------------------------

Honestly if the armor helps one area in gameplay, it will most likely hinder another, in example, 20% faster reloads at the cost of 10% of your default shields or something to that effect

Yes it is, is Mario still Mario, YES.

> Honestly if the armor helps one area in gameplay, it will most likely hinder another, in example, 20% faster reloads at the cost of 10% of your default shields or something to that effect

…Good point, this would be the part where I’d edit in some hindrances…but honestly, that just be too much work on the brain right about now, I’m in too much bloody shock after coming back to this Forum after a few days absence to see a slight state or sanity has returned…

Slight being the operative word…

> Honestly if the armor helps one area in gameplay, it will most likely hinder another, in example, 20% faster reloads at the cost of 10% of your default shields or something to that effect

So the game becomes more of a what perk vs what perk battle than who has better ability. Cool.

That’s still really stupid and completely out of place in Halo. I’ve played tons of games where it’s all about unlocking stuff. They are fun for 2 weeks and then done. Halo, on the other hand, lets you unlock nothing and I played that for years.
