Came across a couple of boosters partial party boosting in Majestic FFA (partial party boosting meaning they were negatively impacting the game experience of randoms they came across in Matchmaking). I avoided them after the game for unsporting conduct and filed complaints against their gamertags for cheating. This took a little while to do.
I start searching again and guess what… I get put into a JIP game with the SAME BOOSTERS!
I’m normally pretty positive about this game but I’ve had some bad experiences tonight (as you can probably see if you look at my last 10 posts on this forum).
I’ve stopped playing Halo 4 for tonight as it was not enjoyable for the first time in a long time.
Wow. I know I occasionally see people on here defending the right to partial party boost and negatively impact others in Matchmaking, but I didn’t expect it in the first reply.
It affects me because:
Instead of having an 8 player FFA game it’s instantly down to 6 as two people are trying to communicate to meet up somewhere and boost achievements/commendations and aren’t paying attention to others.
If you do happen across them they’ll gang up to kill you - perhaps ruining a spree
Kills and airsassination medals all carry points so they can finish above you in the scores etc. etc.
I’m not bothered that they’re getting gamerscore - that doesn’t affect me at all, but partial party boosting does because of the reasons above.
Saw a pair on Skyline running to a corner of the map and hiding, I found them and saw them headshotting each other with pistols (from point blank range) and they carried on doing it…
I congratulated them on getting me the Flash Of Light achievement and informing them of the impending reporting for being cheating fools.
Very next game after that, different people but doing exactly the same thing…
Game after that, three people running around protecting one of their friends, those 3 were getting a ton of assists while the other guy was getting all the kills…
Every single one of them was avoided and reported.
I don’t blame you. Unfortunately, avoiding people doesn’t really work in any game. Microsoft needs to make it so that if you avoid someone, you actually won’t run into them again.
People who don’t want to do the work for an achievement will always boost. It’s sad really; not only will they probably end up getting banned for a lousy amount of gamer score, but they also just show that they’re lazy. Do I want to be throwing pulse grenades everywhere for Flash of Light? Not at all, but I was proud of my complete Halo 4 achievement collection, and damn it, I WILL get it back xD
Boosting is just pathetic. Besides, fun things happen when you actually TRY for it; Like earlier I was playing on Skyline, and my Pulse grenade jumped off of a hardlight shield and came right back in my face xD Ahh, good times

Good reasons, but a majority of the time I see partial party boosting results in the boosters getting destroyed because there are certain conditions they are going for. Whenever I run into them I just throw some nades and headshot. Easy kills
