Is this nearly all the weapons?

Are the weapons we’ve had access to this flight the majority of the pool in infinite? With a few obvious exceptions such as the sword and Spartan laser.

Because if there’s no carbine, grenade launcher, brute shot, mauler, plasma rifle etc that will kind of suck.

I mean I understand the lack of grenade launcher since 343 seem to struggle to replicate the physics engine Reach had and the grenade launcher was way easier and less skillful in later titles (it had less bounce but way more damage to compensate) but everything else being absent is a bit disappointing. Hopefully some old favourites return, I’d love to see the carbine back.

Custom games showed they have a bunch of more weapons in this flight that are not being shown.

Yup, in custom games, there are a lot more weapons like the energy sword, the Hydra from Halo 5, the Cindershot, the Mangler from the campaign gameplay we got early last year, the distruptor, the Sentinel Beam (which might hint on the arrival of flood in the campaign maybe??) , the stalker and the shock rifle. But I think, there’s place for more weapons in the sandbox like the classic shotgun, the plasma rifle and the SMG… But, I think there are a huge number of weapons that they are not showing us yet… but who knows we might get to see new weapons in the next BTB flight.

I doubt the Spartan Laser is coming back to be honest, that thing is too OP. Always has been.

Halo Infinite’s weapons are more purpose built, meaning there’s less “junk” weapons like the Spiker that no one ever really uses.

There are other weapons in the flight that have showed up in some online matches. I got to use the Mangler & Sentinel Beam in one of my first matches, have seen them since (possible bug that they were in game). There’s also a few others my buddy saw in game too like the CinderShot & a Banished pistol that the game has escaped me.

There will be others we don’t see til the hame releases too. Not to mention, more can get added over time too - this is a live service game after all.
Im fine with less weapons overall if it means that the weapons we do have are just generally better.

There’s a lot of nostalgia for the older weapons, which is understandable but honestly I really like the new direction. It makes for a more refined weapon sandbox in my opinion.

Laser wasn’t OP it balanced out vehicle play just fine. It was op with M&K though because there’s no chance at dodging it

I don’t believe that’s true at all, the laser didn’t balance out vehicles, it restricted them. Halo 3 is a prime example, Laser decimated everything in sight, that game was controller exclusive for the entirety of the 360 generation & most of MCC’s lifespan.

Vehicles now have actual damage points that players can hit. Shoot off wheels, wings etc that all affect how a vehicle performs. This means that actual weapons can damage vehicles effectively- nullifying the need for a Spartan Laser that can one hit everything expect a tank or wraith.

It didnt balance vehicle play - it destroyed it. It made BTB games turn into “which team gets splaser first” and not “which team is empirically better”

The Spartan Laser is not difficult to aim and shoot, the difficulty lies in hitting smaller, evasive targets and the small ammo reserve. In practice its one of the easiest weapons to use against a vehicle because its projectile is almost instantaneous, it does massive damage and the only counter is to get rid of the ONE GUY with the spartan laser instead of as a team being collectively better.

Spartan Laser was not a balancing tool, it was a free vehicle kill. It was literally the Banshee Bane for 3, Reach and 4.

.

There’s no reason for it to return what with the SPNKR and Skewer.

Also the Skewer effectively replaces the Splaser and instead of being an instant kill it does high area damage to where it hit and knockback which is still significant enough. Plus we also have the grapple now which benefits highjackers against flying vehicles and of course the SPNKR.

Oh, there’re going to be more weapons…

Post Launch

I hope not, I want my DMR.
