Is this Legendary Slayer or Grenade Slayer?

Because if you told me grenade slayer…i might of been fooled.

What did you expect with no precision rifle starts and no magnum side arm?

I’m just thankful I don’t have to put up with jetpack and active cammo or promethean vision random GO random PO and the other plethora of things wrong with infinity settings

Grenades have been an issue in this game from the start, same in reach. I feel you should just always start with 1 grenade.

Could be worse. This is just one gametype. In Reach, every gametype was Grenade Slayer.

See you misunderstand me…again…what i am saying is Legendary Slayer is the losest populated slayer Playlist…why…maybe because of the grenade spamming. I enjoy the old style gameplay but grenades frenzies aren’t very welcome.

Every player starts with the Resupply and Explosives armor mods. That pretty much makes grenades as powerful as they were in Reach, and there’s a lot more of them. The same problem was present in the so-called “Slayer Pro” in Rumble Pit.

Ever heard of the Golden Triangle of Halo gameplay? “Weapons, Melee, Grenades” Use all three to your advantage. And I have yet to see a player have a good game and finish with grenades as their tool of destruction.

The Magnum needs to be added as a secondary. Then Legendary would be pretty perfect.

See, you misunderstand me. What I am saying is that the spam is true to Classic Halo.

Also, you said absolutely nothing about population in the OP.

Explosives actually nerfs the damage. So, no, they aren’t Halo Reach 'nades.

1 grenade at spawn (which is how I think it should be in every playlist and gametype) and no Resupply. It would be nice.

"But Shamona you could pick up grenades of fallen enemies in past games, its always been a part of Halo."

So the F what! I’ve always disliked that about Halo. I think grenades should be treated as a powerful item that can kill and that they should be controlled by being map pick ups only. I don’t like nades flying every where all the time.

I think the ability to pick up nades off of fallen enemies should be a custom games option. Turn it off in general playlist so low and mid skill players don’t devolve matches into a nade chucking contest and turn it on in playlists like Throwdown.

It actually nerfs the damage and increases the range of the grenade explosion

I know.

Maybe because the grenade doesn’t get the kill. Sort of like shooting an arrow in the heart than one to the head.

If i recall spamming isn’t classic Halo. I remember using grenades to attack large groups and pop shields. Not a horde of them swarming me and my friends. We are all classic Halo Gamers and yet none of us but me even play Legendary Slayer and i feel alot of the Halo fans feel the same way.

No Magnum spawn is harsh and butt loads of grenades. Halo might of had a grenade,melee,gun system but they thing behind the grenade was like guns and melee it has limits and variants.

This is just

GRENADE!

It doesn’t take much to learn to dodge and bait grenades. Then something miraculous happens… your opponent is out of grenades! Now place yours well, and you get rewarded.

Grenades are meant to be thrown.

Go play a different playlist if you really are getting overwhelmed with grenades. They are really not that hard to dodge. I have no problems with grenades in that playlist.

Legendary Slayer would definitely be better with BR starts or any sort of precision weapon at the start really.

Red: “Well I might as well spam my nades considering I can pick them more up from Blue’s dead body and so the Blue’s can’t get mine”.

Blue: “Well I guess I better spam my nades so red can’t pick them up and I can get more nades off the Red’s dead body’s”.

And so, the cycle of nades continues.

My thoughts on the least populated playlist is that “old school” players don’t like the AR starts, and some of the players that are used to IS with the AA’s and the run and gun mentality don’t have the wherewithal to give the playlist a real try. They start to loose, in a big way, and instead of sticking it out they just quit.

In reference to the grenade spamming, well I was used to it in Reach, and didn’t mind it much when my team was doing the spamming. I am alright with the amount of grenades. Especially off spawn, no BR’s, Pistols, or Carbines in sight, and I need something to help me take out that Sniper or Rocket Launcher. Besides the more grenades I have at my disposal, the more practice I get at them, and the better I become at tossing them just right.

It is truly unfortunate that the Infinity Slayer way of playing has, in a way, tainted the expectations of current players. I just hope it doesn’t bleed into H5, but if it does please oh please 343i save something for us who still like a real challenge.
