Memories of Reach brought us Infection, and it’s lovely (for some). I love all of the developer and community maps and Halo 5’s core gameplay is fluent and fun. I just have noticed that the Survivors win way more than I remembered. I played a decent amount of Halo 3 infected and can only remember a few times where the humans survived. I don’t know what it is though that makes it so the humans win more. Has anyone else noticed it? And is this really how much they’re supposed to win? If not, what are some ideas to balance the human-infected win ratio.
I haven’t played too much infection so I can’t say with certainty that this is happening, it seemed like specifically on The Crypt (I believe that’s the map name) it’s just too open and the Survivors can pick off the Zombies too easily. I would also say the addition of map pickup weapons could be influential in this perceived trend (again I haven’t played enough to really say).
I’m not sure if anything needs to be change, but if you are trying to make the infected win more often just make the zombies more damage resistant.
Well if in H3 humans only won a few times like you say. Then that isn’t good or okay either. I’d say H5 infection is half and half. Which is fine by me.
I believe it has to do with the 3 minute rounds
but i think this is the way it should be

Ya while Crypt is a really cool map for infection in terms of atmosphere it really is too open. And with all of the rock columns that Spartans can get on it makes it realy hard for zombies to reach them. Also the power station map has a hallway underground that makes it ridiculously hard to reach someone who at the end of it
I’m not sure there’s a way infection “should” play. I’ve always been a fan of infection and I’ve enjoyed every different iteration of it. Halo 5 probably being my favourite tho.
Yeah survivors do win more often. I remember in reach where it was super rare the humans would live, now it happens every other round
