I haven’t played Halo Wars in years, mainly because my friend sold mine and I could never find another copy. I then saw that it was available on the marketplace, and I’ll be honest it got me craving the Prophet again.
There’s just one thing that holds me back. Is there a decent amount of people still playing, enough to find a match in matchmaking in under 5 minutes?
It is a steep price being $35, to me it’s worth it if the multiplayer is still played but if it isn’t, I’ll just have to skip it I guess.
If you’re looking for an active community, Halo Wars still has a good number of players around (between 3ish thousand and 7ish thousand), but I would wait until Halo 4 and other titles come out before trying to gauge the community. This time every year, Halo Wars’ population takes a nose dive due to the barrage of AAA games, but activity has always come back.
Personally, I have a bad feeling about this time, but if the game makes it through this season, I think the community will be far stronger for it. It’s not the first time I’ve thought this game was done and it’s proven me wrong before.
Its still fun as it was since the start. But the one problem that still buggs me is the players who quit when they are about to lose. Makes rankiing very hard
