Hello people.
Im thinking about buying an Xbox 360.
I currently own a PS3 but i accidently … broke it.
and i thought that since im am gonna buy another console why not look at what the other side has to offer.
so can someone tell me If Halo is any good or no??
I like games like Killzone 2 and 3 which have good graphics and there is no One Man Army -Yoink- like CoD.
are there any vehicles in this game?? how expensive are the map packs? and is there matchmaking or a Server browser or list or whatever(im not much of a technical guy).
what is the maximum Player count in MP and how long the SP is. and are all weapons unlocked at the start like Uncharted or do you have to rank up to unlock weapons and attachements.
also is there any gun attachements and customizations??
also is paying for XBL worth it i mean apart from Cross game chat do you have any extra feature which PSN does not.
also i heard that the realibility rate for the new Xbox is like 20 % if thats true then its a bad thing.
Reach is different to other shooters (and even different to the first 3 Halos) for sure.
There are vehicles in the game, but in Big Team Battle and Invasion only.
The Add-ons (map packs) are worth 800 MS (microsoft points), so not that expensive.
There is a Matchmaking system, which finds you matches in different playlists, it tries to find fair matches with similar skillied players.
The maximun player count in 16, so 8 vs 8 is Big Team Battle.
The SP is not short and nor it’s long, just a campaign that can be beaten in three days if you’re not a guy that plays more than 4 hours a day.
Different weapons are in the different maps as pick ups, for exeption of Invasion were you can choose from different classes, in normal Matchmaking you can only choose your armor ability at the start of a game.
No, there isn’t any weapon customization, but you can customize your armor, you can also buy you fireifight voice, death effects and armor effects. They are bought with Credits, which you get by playing any mode of the game.

I beat it in one day… >> <<
The campaign should take around 9 hours to complete. It’s not long, nor is it extremely short. It’s just kinda ‘average’ for a FPS.
This is a Halo forum, so don’t be surprised to find that no one says Halo is “bad.” If you like arcadey, arena type shooters chances are you’d like Halo. Halo: Reach is quite team based, so if you don’t like the one-man-army type games you’re in luck. The previous installments (Halo: CE, Halo 2 and 3) focus more on the one-man-army type gameplay than team based gameplay, though.
There are numerous vehicles in Halo. If you want to see the ones available for use in multiplayer check out this video. Please note, though, the Hornet is not in Halo: Reach. It’s only in Halo 3.
In Halo: Reach you have specific playlists to play in. For example, there’s a playlist called Team Slayer, which pits two teams of 4 against each other (8 players total). This is considered a “competitive” playlist and you won’t find vehicles in a competitive playlist. Rather, you 'll find vehicles in the less competitive playlists such as Invasion or Big Team Battle. Big Team Battle pits two teams of 8 against each other for a total of 16 players. 16 players is the max you’ll find in a Halo game. The game uses a matchmaking system (no server list). You pick a playlist you want to play in and the game will automatically search for similarly skilled players using MS’s True-Skill system. Once enough players have been found the game will start. During the game you can leave, but you can’t re-join a game that’s already started. Leaving in an already started game will result in you getting a penalty. If you leave too many games in a set time frame you won’t be able to play online for 15 minutes.
Map Packs, like another user stated, are 800 Microsoft Points each, which equates to around $10. A typical Map Pack will give you 3 new maps.
Weapons are scattered around the map. You can’t simply choose what weapons you want to play with at the start of the game. You spawn, and if you want the shotgun you’ll need to find where it is placed on the map and go get it yourself.
There is no weapon customization at all, but you can customize your player model with various armour permutations and colours. You can also customize your in-game emblem.
As for whether paying for XBL is worth it or not, I can’t say. It’s really a matter of opinion. I personally don’t feel it’s right for Microsoft to charge users for a system that relies only on P2P. I wouldn’t mind paying for it if I knew that money was going to servers, or the devs themselves, but it’s not. I’ve never played on a PS3, so I can’t comment on their differences.
Lastly, I own 3 xbox 360s and they all work flawlessly.
Slims don’t get RROD no matter what, but they can still fail just like all electronics.
It’s a pretty slim chance though.

…when RROD happens to me, I will lay down and cry. =P And I guess it will happen soon…almost 2 yrs now and no sign of it, but my luck is gonna run out eventually… =P
it really depends on what kind of gamer you are. if you are a casual gamer, sure, reach is a good game. if you are a competitive power gamer, however, the game is a nightmare.
