Overall I think Infinite is a pretty good game. I’m especially surprised that the equipment is pretty good. The repulsor is a really great addition. However, need more maps, and more guns. Some other thoughts…
Challenges:
Has anyone noticed that if you have a challenge for lets say oddball, then you will not get a game of oddball? I got tired of waiting for a match, used my challenge swap then immediately got an oddball match. I suspect this could be some sort of monetization scheme, but I am very suspicious of games companies these days as they try all sort of schemes.
Cheaters:
Has anyone run into cheaters yet, if so, you can turn off crossplay on the xbox account setting. I don’t fell like it’s out of control yet, but if it gets out of control they can play by themselves.
Guns and Gun Balance:
Where are the classic guns, I really hope that they are in the Forge.
Seriously what is going on with the ravager? It looks cool but why is it so weak?
Why does the plasma pistol not shut down vehicles? Finding this out really sucked.
Seems like getting a BR is a really special occasion.
Sword:
Is there a good counter to the sword? In the past the shotgun seems like it filled that role.
Grenades:
It seems like right now there is a lot of grenade spam, I don’t mind it but my friends are not at all pleased. It seems like it could be a little to much especially if grenades from dead bodies are easily blown up.
Overall I think the game is pretty good, honestly I’m surprised that 343i might have actually made a good game. I do think that there is room for improvement and thing need to be worked on. If they happen to actually listen to the players, then we might actually have a really cool game we can play for years to come.
No, this game is the opposite of good. The only “good” parts about Infinite is matchmaking base gameplay and the visuals, everything else in this game is worse than Halo 5.
This is a great question and one I haven’t seen brought up at all.
The sword is definitely a power weapon (especially on Recharge along with Hammer), but historically there’s usually been a counter (obvious map bound exceptions). I like the Bulldog, but there does need to be a sword counter that isn’t just “take the sword guy out at range”.
You know just the basic unnecessary things you might want to find in a fun accessible multiplayer game.
But gameplay is completely irrelevant in a game when it comes to entirely optional features like:
The logic at play is mind numbing.
I wouldn’t say worse, in fact the options within the game modes are pretty robust. I would’ve loved to see some more choices for equipment load outs (haven’t messed with fiesta in CG yet, so maybe it’s in there) and a few more customization features, but Custom Games is pretty true to its legacy.
Aside from the Ravager and Plasma Pistol, the weapons seem pretty good to me.
I didn’t ride the hype train for Infinite, I stayed cautious and tempered my expectations. Custom games in Infinite aren’t even remotely as good as H5’s. Nor is the progression or monetization systems, as progression in H5 is fairly quick, and the microtransactions only paywall maybe 2 or 3 full sets of armor out of like 246.
Halo 5 has a vast array of weaponry due to it’s weapon variants, giving it one of the largest sandboxes and most unique sandboxes of ANY Halo game.
Halo 5’s customization may be limited but it’s still FAR better than what we have in Infinite right now.
You’re making a lot of comparisons to Halo 5 in response to my pretty concise reply, when I didn’t even reference it once lol
Lot of attempted comparisons between two titles that do things wildly different. It’s clear there’s some misunderstanding about gameplay function when you’re using stats and mechanics from Warzone to criticize this title when it has nothing similar.
I find the repulser/ thruster equipment is the only really effective counter for sword and hammer up close, and that is really just giving you added distance. It looks like hammer and sword counter each other weapon wise.
