Just sold Halo 5 because it isn’t a Halo game. Considering picking MCC back up. Just wondering if this game is still decently populated. Any playlists completely dead?

Dead? No. The matchmaking is still broken though. No fix in sight, nor official word from 343.
It’s safe to say they are not fixing Halo: MCC. (You know, because support seems non-existent)
There hasn’t been an update except for playlist changes last week. That’s it.
1100+ hours on a broken game. It was fun tho, but probably wasn’t worth it.

I got a game of Big Team earlier today so I’m happy. It wasn’t really working for me here in Australia back when I was playing MCC before.

last time i tried to play mcc online i waited 10 minuts for a slayer match then i played campaign instead
MCC is dead because it was released as a broken game and never fixed. Piss poor effort in releasing that game. Damn shame

In short, no. Not at all. People just seem to be making out it’s worse than it actually is. I’m still finding games on a regular basis in team slayer and action sack. Sometimes it has been a ten minute wait but usually once I find one, I find them faster afterwards.

Literally cannot find games so for me it is dead sadly. I tried Halo3, H2A, BTB, Action Sack, Infection nothing works
Far from dead, but game support is.
I play mainly around 8pm GMT (3pm eastern) and BTB takes between 20 seconds and 10 minutes per game to find. Same for slayer. Ranked is hard to find balanced games though.
The games matchamking is fine, unlike some reports here. There are less players on it though, before Halo 5 i would get matches in 30 seconds or so. Now i have to wait minutes and it really depends on the time of day you decide to play.

Have you played the orignal Halo releases? Matchmaking is playable but it is not fine. Not even close to fine. Its broken because I can fire up Reach and get a game in a playlist with only 60 players within a minute. I shouldn’t have to wait 15 minutes between big team matches. There is no population issue. There’s a programming issue with 343.

The game is playable. But it’s not even close to fixed if you consider fixed to mean playing like the originals which had nearly flawless matchmaking on slower hardware with slower internet, 10 years ago.
I still love to play it but it won’t ever let me get games alone. If I join my bf, we get games. If I try to find games alone, nothing. It does take a long time to get games but it is still a lot of fun to me.

I would say that 30 seconds to get a match is fine on my book.

Broken (adj) - having been fractured or damaged and no longer in one piece or in working order.
So much for that.
To answer the OP’s question, no, not at all. Matchmaking’s a bit like the second death star in Star Wars - operational, but not quite complete. Games can definitely take a while to crop up on occasion but so long as you’re patient you should be fine. TBH I’m still struggling to find the reason everyone hates this game so vehemently.
(For the record, I played a lot of Reach so I know what the standard operating procedure for matchmaking looks like).
This game was obviously a sad attempt to lower us into getting an Xbox one then when the “flawless” halo 5 came out and that’s what 343 were aiming at in terms of population. They thought more people would play that non-halo game but in all honestly more people play and like mcc. I (and speaking for everyone) would rather wait another year or two to have this game completed fixed with no problem then to have it released way to early and have a wad of halo servers that have unbearable problems. I’m hoping they’ll continue to address they’re fans and fix the many problems associated with this game. “Thx for taking a look at my rant”
I don’t know if this will effect you but for me, everything works perfectly. Fast matchmaking, no game crashes, and always at 60 fps. The surprisingly thing is I live in a small town area in a desert, and the game works flawless.
