Wanting to get some reviews. I liked the first one well enough, just wanting to see some opinions from people who’ve played it.
yes theres so much more variety in units and leader abilitys.
while rushing is part of every rts, it is something that has severly plagued this game. when it first released it was so awful which made peoples opinions sour ad very bad. its alot better now

How long does an average match take? I was always a fan of Age of Empires, and Age of Mythology, so depending on the mode and difficulty and all it could be anywhere from 45 minutes to like 8 hours. Playing online was usually like a 30 minute match. Is that comparable? That gives me some idea of the speed of play.

most games in.1v1 end before 30 minutes
most team matches end before 30 minutes or atleast i try to. beyond that is so boring.
there are tons of bad players you can drag out matches if you want, just rekill there armys 3 to 7 times. most people just quit if they get dominated the first 15.
all in all its pretty fun. rushes do ruon team play games though. right now the metas choppers and most top ranked gamea are completely 1 sided. early game choppers if the other team loses to much and map control they instant lose.

Ehhhhh. Sounds worth a buy and try anyway. Can’t be worse than Halo 5. Hear the story is actually good this time
While I loved HW 1, HW2 is a much better RTS. It’s a little more complex and functional than HW1 in all the right ways.
It’s not perfect, but it’s pretty damn good and still improving.
It’s pretty good. Even if multiplayer isn’t your thing, campaign and skirmish games are worth the buy. I spend much of my time doing that, at least until I see some sort of incentive to playing ranked…
YouTube around if you’re still unsure. It’s gonna look different than the first. But it’s pretty up there with the first.
Hope this helps, best of luck deciding!
It’s better in almost every single way. It’s a worthy successor. And this time it has a couple new modes like firefight and blitz.
The campaign is also pretty sweet.
The campaign, while good, is inferior to HW1’s. The multiplayer is much more expansive and complex than it was in HW1. This is great, but it means balance is harder to maintain. Rushing is very common still, and can be problematic in team games. Rushing is in every RTS, but its a lot more prevalent in HW2.
I enjoyed the campaign of HW1 more than I did that of HW2 - that being said, that HW2 campaign is still very fun. It’s just a little more abrupt, unfortunately. It’s also nice that it’s not a prequel, and the events are “current”.
I haven’t gotten into multiplayer other than Blitz yet, but this game was worth the $80 I paid for it brand new. It’s definitely worth whatever the price it is now.
Blitz mode is also a great feature of HW2. A good Blitz game can go up to 20 minutes and some quick games can be finished in less than 5
Also, if you’re looking for competitive games in HW2 make sure you check out Looking for Groups. It’s a great way to post a game request or join someone else who is looking for competitive matches and or co-op.

While the story in Halo 5 wasn’t the best, the gameplay was good and the multiplayer is fantastic.
It’s not as good. Enjoyable nevertheless. That said, if you’re one of those militant casuals who are on a crusade against rushing, I would advise you not to buy the game anyway.

I had a 3 v 3 that pushed 1:30 once but most matches of deathmatch only last about 30-45 min. Other modes are shorter.
More leaders in this one, HW had 6. This one has 7, Plus 7 with the season pass (can also be purchased separately) of which 3 have release and 2 more are dropping this month. also once the AtN expansion drops there will be 16 leaders total.
Campaign gameplay and mission structure had more variety in HW2 then in the original.

I have to disagree there, most of the environments in HW2 have much less variety and the Banished is the only enemy in the game. HW1 has so much better art for maps and had Forerunner and Flood units and buildings.
HW2 definitely has the advantage on leaders by a big margin though.

I’d say 15 is about average. This one can be over in 6 and can take as long as a few hours.

My opinion still stands, Forerunner and Flood units added more variety, most HW2 units are from the first game. Could you give some examples where the HW2 campaign has more gameplay variety than HW1’s?
I think overall HW2 has more gameplay variety in skirmish and multiplayer but not in campaign.

You seem to be forgetting that they are adding more campaign missions, the next two you play as banished against flood

I’m not, I’m comparing the 2 campaigns the games shipped with. ATN won’t be out for another few months anyway, I hope it’ll be good but it’s still €20 to fight the Flood, which is something you didn’t have to pay extra for in HW1.
