Please correct me if I am wrong but this looks like blatant violation of the TOS where these people are setting up boosting groups to cheat and rank up.

"I was thinking we could play something like capture the flag for team wins and alternate wins with one person on each team getting flag kills while playing. For example the team winning grab the flag and get kills on the other entire team except for one who goes and gets the other flag killing the other team and if get at least 15 kills a match get the commendation for at least 15 kills without dying.
This way we get tons of commendations for winning matches kill streaks flag kills multi kills and perfections which will net us alot of XP on the process
We can do other game types too. What do u guys think?

There is an automated system specifically for finding these people.
They end up getting XP locked. I believe if one guy is XP locked 3 times it becomes a permanent lock.
At the moment 343 hasn’t clarified on that. This is quite an edgy topic but I’ll throw in as much as I understand.
In Reach people could ‘boost’ as it’s called as long as they had a full party group together and everyone was getting a kill. Since it didn’t hamper another persons game it wasn’t bannable but is frowned upon and against the spirit of the game.
I cannot say 100% sure wether this same attitude is accepted anymore in Halo 4. But if I can offer any advice at the moment is I would not try it, as the risk could be great. From a minor exp ban to a full rank reset.

That is o-o very interesting, where did you hear that? Because if people were to get permanently locked just for capping experience often a ton of people would be locked right now from hitting the cap so often.
There was an automated system for Reach and Halo 3 that stopped people from cheating. Halo 4 has been out for a week and its not cool if people are using these tactics to rank up already. This is definitely organized cheating and should not be permitted.

There is a distinct difference between hitting the XP cap and going into something like Regicide with other people and trading Perfection medals and the like.
What those people are doing is purely boosting. ‘Lets get 6 people together to all take turns throwing matches to pad our stats and finish commendations without having to actually play.’
The automated system would pick up on matches where it notices a bunch of users behaving like this. It is capable of seeing that it is odd for a 6 man Regicide match to only have one guy scoring kills. It would also notice the group of people from that match where involved in many more similarly weird matches. Stuff like that.
It XP locks people who are causing odd data to show up like that. Some people are good, sure, but no one is so good they can win a Regicide without anyone else in a match ever scoring a kill.
Ah, that makes a lot more sense. So basically they improved the system to compensate for the tactic I mentioned in my former post in Reach for Halo 4.
Sadly people are still going at so not matter the technology people still try. It’ll probably die down later when the specializations are available to all.

Everyone has their limits. Some people lack the patience to legitimately manage some types of challenges in games.
Take the Perfection Commendation as an example. Only a small portion of the people playing Halo 4 right now can realistically manage to score a perfection medal. This is fine too, since more then anything the medal is a sort of prestige thing. It exists purely as bragging rights.
So for a player who wants to finish all their commendations but lacks the ability to manage a legitimate Perfection this causes a problem. Nothing pisses a completionist off more then having a game tell them they aren’t allowed to continue. ‘No. You may not finish this challenge. You aren’t good enough of a player’ might as well sound like ‘Cheat. It will take months if you don’t.’
So a player in that situation of that mindset is very likely to boost for the commendation.
That is how it starts. Players feel like something will take more time then they want to give it and they find another way.
I’m surprised they would add perfections as commendations. I only ever got about 6-7 in Halo 3 and maybe 4-5 in Reach when I played.

I actually agree. The Perfection commendation is going to be the cause of a LOT of boosting among the Average and under skill level players.
I consider myself just a hair above average and I can say without any hesitation I do NOT have a play style or skill level that would manage a Perfection. You have to play a certain way to manage it.
I figure the Boosting will be less of a thing if they get out a few silly playlists. Grifball. Maybe even an Action sack playlist with game types like All Shotguns or all Concussion Rifles. Once there are weird, easy match types to get XP up in really quickly the temptation to cheat for it will go down.
I wouldn’t mind a playlist with Monobattle setups. Everyone with one type of weapon. Team Shotties on Complex could be fun. Everyone gets a Shotgun and the Boltshot.
Ive seen a few people boosting in Flood. Flood seems to be the fastest changing gametype, so it would be the best for boosting.
You see them there, standing on the spot, endlessly spinning in circles.
Guess they put a rubber band around their controller or something. Either way, i hope the system is able to pick them out.
