A well timed melee that came in a Reach. you lose some Health and Shields but you survive and have a higher chance to kill the sword user.
It’s not a “block,” more of a parry, but you do it by swinging at an enemy within a short interval of them attempting to melee you with the sword

I think in 5 you have to: 1) Have an Energy Sword (any variant), 2) Your enemy also has an Energy Sword (again, any variant), and 3) swing at the same time as your enemy.

Ok then I know, it happened once during release of MOR and I did it in Castle Wars.

You cannot block an enemy sword attack with melee in Halo 5.

Just kidding. As glad as I am that sword blocking has been removed, I do miss punching sword-users to death in Halo: Reach.

I just hate how ridiculous the sword lunge range seems sometimes haha, i’d love to be able to smack someone off if I havent got time to evade.
I’d actually like to see the bayonet equipped weapon variants get a capacity to deflect a sword blow, but only if it gets a nifty animation for pushing the sword away with that small hardlight blade.
I’m pretty sure originally you couldn’t sword block in halo 5 but around the same time grifball was added so was this feature. Correct me if I’m wrong.
I have sword blocked in Halo 5 before. Don’t remember how, don’t remember in what gamemode (might’ve been Warzone), but I remember sword blocking still exists. Now if only I can do it and not die is the real question…
Pretty sure only swords can block swords in Halo 5.
It’s a bit random some times you can sword block 1-5 times before some one dies. It’s not very consistent.
