no beating around the bush just a YES or NO
my enjoyment of the game has been on a waving scale indicative of SBMM

I remember reading something in one of the past blogs that talked about it. Not sure if that was just for comp though
I think the current beta has SBMM, but I dont know if this means social will have it at launch.

if it does then infinite will be a single player game for me exclusively, i refuse to keep sweating my but off because the system keeps pitting me against even sweatyer players to make it more “fAiR” when all i wanted was some casual fun
There is yes, pretty much every game does. Whether you’ll be sweating depends on how tight they make it. So hopefully loose for social, tight for ranked.
Sadly yes

I mean yeah SBMM sucks, but I doubt all the high level players will be grinding social, they will be in the HCS playlist. The social playlists will be fine be IIRC they had sbmm in social playlists and it was fine.
Social definitely shouldn’t have SBMM or at least have a relaxed SBMM.
In the full game it will be, in the current flight they are only testing post game MMR calculation but not applying it to matchmaking.

SBMM is a necessary evil to make sure that players that are not skilled at the game can still enjoy it, so even in social it has a place. I completely agree that it should be more flexible (hoping players will actually play relaxed as well).

This is the way!
Tight SBMM is the way for ranked, but SBMM still has somewhat of a place in social playlists. It’s neither fun to steamroll complete beginners, nor getting Mint Blitzd. What made me despise SBMM was COD MWs tight SBMM in social, were most people landed around 1.0 K/D, because of how strict it was, without the pleasure to see your highskill improve so you at least can tell yourself that you are in a highly skilled bracket.
For social I want an diverse experience, where i can pop off sometimes but also face better people to see, what level of skill can be accomplished. But I don’t need another ranked mode without a number attached.

honestly, i also dont get the appeal of 49-50 games, if every game is like that then how do people feel like they are getting better. halo 5 making every match that close is what drove me away from ranked modes in every game. even in halo i mainly stick to customs now adays since SBMM doesnt matter a big.

If casual fun means you going 20+and 5 every match dominating a lobby where now the players beneath you are feeling exactly how you felt during the creation of this post…then no. Sbmm is doing it’s job.
Having casual fun does not mean being in lobbies you shouldn’t be in over and over again. It means having fair matches. If you’re exceptionally good…and play exceptionally well each time…then you shouldn’t be playing against people who struggle with the fundamentals of the game. This goes for ANY game.
