The Red vs. Blue videos confirm that there is a Shotgun.
RvB and the scatter gun.
I think the shotgun should come back in a rectangular form. Instead of the body being round, it’s a sharp long rectangular shape. It looks good in my head, hard to get the picture out for you to see what I see.
Shotgun is in according to the RvB release date trailer. The list of vehicles/weapons on the Halo 4 official site is incomplete b/c in various screens we’ve seen vehicles like the Falcon, Wraith, etc. that aren’t listed on the site. The shotgun can be included in that list.
Looking at the Halo Waypoint Halo 4 render gallery…they posted the forerunner shotgun…but no original shotgun design. Every other weapon used in previous games are shown, including some new ones. However, there is no “classic” shotgun.

i was looking at the RvB videos and sarges shotgun was identical to reachs i think it was just a place holder and the cater shot is a power wepon from the looks of it
