We know that the entire series revolves around Master Chief fighting aliens and galaxy consuming threats. We know that he wants to stop this rampant fragment of Cortana (thats just my view of it) or whatever personality is assuming her. And I’m sure he wants to end the Flood if it does come back. But is there anything Chief himself is after? Is it as simple as reviving Cortana or destroying the fragment? Stopping the Didact? Is it the fate of the Forerunners, or stuff from the past coming into the present for himself, and players, to finally understand? Is it discovering more Forerunner tech, or the remaining Halo rings (can’t forget about those!) and destroying them? Is there something deeper, more personal Chief is after? Or is it really as simple as saving the galaxy?
I wonder what 343 has in store.
If there is I don’t think he has realized/found it yet. Halo 4 briefly touched the subject that John is human too but this was seemingly confusing or at least a new point of view for him.
Fairly certain he’s after what he’s always been after; winning.
And no I dont mean that as a Charlie Sheen reference…its one of the things that Halsey saw in him when she interviewed him on Eridanus II: an insatiable drive to always win, no matter what.
I dont think Chief even himself knows. Maybe he is just going with the flow or perhaps he has many reasons as to why he is doing what he is doing it doesnt really have to be just 1 thing. We might know more in the future or not.
