Is there an issue with melee and shoulder charge?

I’ve watched a couple of videos of the new arena gameplay, and I’m a little concerned about shoulder charge sharing it’s button with melee.

If you sprint up behind someone and try to assassinate them, or just beat them down, is it going to do a shoulder charge instead, which will only drop shields?

Charge is basically a glorified melee attack. The damage is the same, Hitting a player will drop their shields, But get them from behind and it’s a 1 hit kill. Nothing really special about it aside from 2 things;

  1. It can be used to break down walls in Campaign and Warzone.

  2. It forces the player to stop sprinting if they want to use a normal melee attack or assassinate an enemy. Kinda nerfs the whole ‘Sprint/Melee’ combo that was present in Halo 4.

OK, so I guess the hit in the video must be deemed to be from the side, hence it’s not a 1-hit. Not so bad I guess, but still would be nice to be able to differentiate. Looking forward to getting my hands on my hunter, sorry spartan.

Guy really knows how to execute the ground pounds! Landing on two guys at the same time…wow.

Tap Sprint to stop before meleeing.
Time a Slide so that you assassinate as you stand.
Jump and tap Melee for an Air-Assassination.
