I’m trying to get the Unicorn emblem. I thought I would eventually get it from a REQ pack, but I recently realized I can only unlock it from getting the Mantis Destroyer pack. You get this pack from destroying a total of 26 Mantis vehicles…
Is there any easy way to do this? I pretty much only play Arena and sometimes Warzone firefight. I thought the most logical place to find mantis(es?) is in Warzone Assault. But checking my commendations I realised I destroyed 8 Mantises already. So they must be in Warzone firefight sometimes, since I don’t think I ever finished a Warzone assault game.
As far as I know these are the Warzone firefight maps:
Escape from ARC
Attack on Sanctum
Raid on Apex 7
Skirmish at Darkstar
Urban
March on Stormbreak
Do you guys know on which on these maps you have to fight enemy Mantises? Or are there easier ways to get this commendation? I just think killing AI Mantises is easier than Mantises in Warzone assault…
I think Warzone, BTB, and action sack would be your best bet. In Warzone enemies could spawn mantises at any point. Some BTB maps have mantises on them that Respawn at regular intervals. Action sack used to have a breakout game type that was all mantises. I’m not sure if it’s still in the playlist anymore, I don’t play Action Sack like ever.
Regular Warzone is probably your best bet for destroying mantis. Get in a unsc tank or lasers or rocket launchers. Action sack will be good too if mantis breakout is still in it, which it should be. Btb would be slow going for it since not many maps have the mantis and competition to actually be the one to destroy it would be tough. I am pretty sure destroying mantis in firefight do not count, well any mantis driven by an enemy AI won’t count. It has to be driven by an enemy Spartan.

AI driven Warthogs counts toward the commendation,so Mantis should do it too
OP,regular Warzone and Splinter grenades work too if your short of heavy equipment.

I don’t know, I thought that the enemy AI driven vehicles didn’t count towards commendations. But it’s been so long since I completed mine I can’t remember excatly for sure.
I know this may be frowned upon (I resorted to it to finish the mongoose destructions) but search Warzone at the same time as a friend with a similar MMR and hope to match against eachother. It is the most efficient way, but Mantis destructions honestly is far easier than mongoose destructions and wouldn’t necessarily warrant this method.
Attack on Sanctum, Temple and Skirmish at Darkstar are the only FF maps with Mantis rounds. Fracture is the only BTB map with a Mantis on it. Probably faster doing it in regular WZ.
