Is there a way to turn of aim assist in game?
I have been playing for a while now and I still cant find the option.

I mean its fine for me if other people enjoy using it in MP. But for my own sake I would like to turn it off. Too many times have I tried to shoot someone only to have another opponent zip across the field and pull my sights with him.

Other reasons I dislike it:

  • Disrupts gun battles
  • Gives my enemy a momentary advantage which is crucial in a fast battle.
  • Makes using the AR annoying as I find in CQC the drag is even worse.
  • Makes stealth (when camo’d) less successful as enemies can just let the gun idle and drag to find you.
  • Makes me feel like I have to wrestle with the controller to aim properly.

I’m sure there was the option in Reach to turn it off and I did right from the beginning.

Anyone else’s thoughts?

That is auto aim. An aspect of Halo that is meant to help people with poor aim. It has been present in all Halo games. But is especially intense in Halo 4.

Another issue is the bullet magnetism. It curves the bullets to hit enemies because of the inherent inaccuracy of the controller. However, in Halo 4 due to weapons being hitscan, it is especially obscene. Halo 4 Weapon Magnetism

I knew the magnetism was pretty bad. But those videos just shock me.

I have also seen in-game many times that plasma grenades would some times bend or even u-turn to stick to enemies. I happened so much in BTB, that I almost wanted to throw my controller. I usually never get that angry over things.
