Is there a way to opt out if updates?

I had about an hour to myself that I wanted to play Halo Wars 2, and in stuck with this stupid update that is only at 11% after 15 minutes. I only ever play campaign and I don’t play DLC so is there a way I can keep this from updating in the future so I can just enjoy the game I played $60 for?

You can potentially put your console offline, but I’m not sure how much of the game is accessible. Updates include balancing and bug fixes and to keep things on an even playing field they have to be made mandatory so that everyone is playing on the same version of the game. For that reason there isn’t a way to opt out

Even if I don’t play multiplayer ever?

But what I’m getting at is that I really wish I had a choice. Like when this was called expansion packs. You didn’t have to install if you didn’t want. That way if I don’t have time to download, I shouldn’t have to.

Best way to go about that is when you want to play If you have the disc Make sure your console isn’t connect to the internet. That way you have the original version. Otherwise it’s mandatory to keep everything in sync.

I may do that. Thanks
