Originally, 343i had intended to use the Halo:Reach models for the Assault Rifle and Magnum in Halo:Anniversary, like they did for the rest of the weapons in the game. For some reason they went with the Halo 3 models in final game…
Anyone know if there’s a way to get the Halo:Reach models back via glitch, or skull, or anything like that? Are they even still in the game? It’s just, I liked how the Halo:Reach Assault Rifle and Magnum looked so much better; a lot more detailed, and the AR was much more rugged-looking…

To you. But the people who spoke about it didn’t approve…like…at all. Same for the Armor in the announcement trailer.
Feedback from fans was positive towards the game, but negative because of the armor and placeholders from Reach. Besides, it makes no difference what a person prefers. Halo: Combat Evolved had the ORIGINAL AR and Pistol. It only makes sense for them to be there.
Halo: Reach has an incredibly ugly AR. I have no idea why anybody would prefer that over the sleek look of the Halo 3 AR.
The Halo: Anniversary AR and Halo 3 AR look very similar, but they aren’t the exact same graphical model. They only look similar because they were both designed to resemble the Halo: CE AR.

The Halo:CEA AR and Halo 3 AR are the exact same model; same goes for the Magnum.
You know, if they wanted it to look more like the original AR, they could have at least used the Halo 4 model; it’s more detailed than the Halo 3 version, easily the best looking AR in the Halo series.

I was unable to find a source for this information. Do you have one?

“A source”? Go play Halo 3, or just look at a screenshot of the Halo 3 AR or Magnum, and compare it to the Halo:CEA Assasult Rifle and Magnum. They look exactly alike.

So your only evidence is that they look the same?
All I’m saying is that I don’t think they would just copy-paste a Halo 3 model into Halo: CE Anniversary, especially considering that none of the other weapons look the same. It’s very possible that there are some slight differences; we may not completely notice them due to bump mapping or textures that mask the true shapes of the models.

Fix’d. Also, I almost didn’t buy the anniversary upon learning they took out the Reach place-holders. Reach’s AR and magnum were just masterpieces that have yet to be outdone.
> Everyone here does realize the fact that the actual weapon models (in canon) are ENTIRELY DIFFERENT…right?

Canon can take a back seat for this once if it means the MA37 comes back.
The MA37 reminded me of something out of Michael Bay Transformers, with all the stupid and unnecessary parts/kibble sticking out everywhere. Unnecessary detail is unnecessary!

And the classic model looks like something coming out of star wars. Your point?
