Is there a way to fix the multiple account abuse?

I am by no means a great player. I like to think I’m above average, but not that great. I have to try hard with a full team to rank up to Onyx or Champion.

So when a player or team that is significantly better than myself and my team decides that it would be fun to make extra Xbox account and play against players that are a lower skill level, it completely destroys the point of the ranking system and ruins the experiences of those of us who play with our one and only account. It gives us loses that we shouldn’t have and makes it much harder for us to rank up.

Is there any way to stop this?

Don’t know if there is a way to stop it because anyone can legally have multiple profiles on Xbox, for family or friends.
It’s like an honour system really and I feel anyone doing it should be embarrassed at themselves personally.
I’m only Gold rank but I find it boring playing against Bronze because even I can beat them easily. Why someone wants to play someone who isn’t as good as them is weird.

Many good players make extra accounts not for stomping on lower skilled ones. But so they dont have to worry about their rank, relax, be less sweaty every game and have some fun. Not saying people dont do it to stomp others, but when you like arena game types and youre a high onyx. Not only can it take forever to get a game off peak each one is very competitive. So you make an extra acoount to relax with and maybe play with that friend that isnt good enough to keep up with the level of people you usually play.

I personally dont play arena if I have a few beers, because it throws me off. So I just muck about in Warzone, but I much prefer 4v4 type games. And I have considered making a fluff account.

Solution?

Have a Arena SOCIAL playlist. You’d only need one, 4v4 mixed bag of game types. Then people can get back to one of halo’s best past times, having fun.

Nope.

Xbox one lets you share gold with anyone on your console, so that means infinite alt accounts.

I imagine reports of this are more imaginative than ground in fiction. I imagine it does in fact happen, but not nearly to the extent that is being described.

no, just 5

This has been an issue since halo 2, there’s no way to prevent it. Accept it.

No, any game. A friend came over and used his account to play Destiny. He didn’t pay for gold. But since I do on my xbox, it worked for him

I think he meant 5 accounts on 1 xbox one are gold shared

I have started to come across this more and more. I don’t worry about it so much though. I know I am going to be low level, and just move on from that one game. If a guy needs to stay Champion in Swat by having friends with alt low accounts than they definitely care more about that rank than I do.

Oh and I do take the time to report them though. It is just unsporting in my opinion.

Well they wasted 300 dollars plus live to do that, I don’t understand why they would waste that much, but hey freedom.

I run into smurf accounts all the time. Last night we ran into a player with a SR 16 who was bronze 3. His teamates were onyx and he lead their team in every category.

Happens all the time.

I dont get get too upset about it because I know I’m losing to a player who is just better at the game than I am. I always rank platinum in slayer and play my way into diamond and stay there until rank reset.

I Just take the opportunity to go into theatre and see what high level players do differently than myself. I learn more from a loss than a win.

And OP. IMO regardless or weather or not you have to “try hard” to get to Onyx, getting to onyx makes you a great player. Certainly well above average. If you’re in Onyx you should be playing against the best players.

fYI you can make multiple users on a Xbox and share the same live account. They didn’t waste any money. I have both my kids on different GT’s using my xbl account.

60$ actually, you can have infinite smurfs as long as one of those accounts has an active gold subscription

It happens a lot. Do you really think that those SR15 folks who are doing placements on the 20th of the month and completely wipe the floor with you are legit? I know lots of folks who do it, yet also want to complain that ranking is broken.

It would also fix the issue for us less expereined players out there of not having to worry about winning every game. Big Team and Grifball have literally turned into sweat pits because there’s no game modes that dont count towards your K/D or win/loss ratio.

It’s brutal. I personally think it’s unsportsmanlike behaviour so if someone or multiple people in a game are smurfing really bad, I’ll report them for that. But to report so many is just a waste of time. Generally I only report if they’re really out of place, like high onyx/champion good. Cuz I can tell when they’re that insanely good.

Well shoot. It’s just kinda sad people will go to these lengths, but then you realize how much time they have to sink into the game, and you start to kinda feel bad. Maybe you send them a message asking them if they are ok.

Yeah… In that case :It’s just kinda sad people will go to these lengths, but then you realize how much time they have to sink into the game, and you start to kinda feel bad. Maybe you send them a message asking them if they are ok.

From my understanding this kinda happens for two reasons yes there are those who do it just to beat up on lower skilled players but also I have read that some really high ranks can’t find matches at all sometimes due to such low population. I did kinda notice that my matchmaking time really increases as I got to a pretty high oynx in FFA, so champion level I bet is really slow.
