IDK what it is but i almost never get kills with this needler despite the type of engangment. I find this weird because i usually go on a killin spree with the other two needlers that are common and uncommon but yet this “talon of the lost” is a rare and it just seems awful. Im guessing maybe there is a trick idk. I’ve tried everything to see if i can get it to perform better and it never does. the regular needler and the Hailstorm especially out shine it with ease.
I haven’t found/used it myself yet, but word on the street is that its special niche is fighting vehicles and hunters (normal Needler and Hailstorm are useless against such armor).
I defeated a Ghost Ultra user with it - that was the only kill I got with it, and my only Talon of the Lost as well. I got blown up or shot or something, and lost it… Ironic, I suppose.
as said earlier its mean for vehicles mostly, the uncommon one is the best against infantry.
I’ve killed people with it plenty of times, I didn’t even know it was meant for vehicles.
Try using it on a ghost. It will obliterate the driver and barely damage the ghost, allowing you or an ally to hop in the ghost. It is pretty lackluster against infantry targets. I haven’t used it on Hunters or other AIs, so I’m not sure how well it does against those.
Alright thanks guys. Its just bassackwards because in all halo games and including the first two needlers in this one everyone knows they are just about useless agains vehicles so using it against what has always been its weakness never cam to mind.
Yeah the clue is in the description, where it says the needles can embed themselves in armor

I guess the idea was to make the special variant have a very different playstyle than the vanilla version. Many Reqs are fairly boring things like +ammo and +firing rate.
I’m not saying that they executed that idea particularly well in this exact case, but I like the premise of their idea.

The Wiplash is pretty cool. Railgun with 2 in the chamber.

The word on the street is true! Mopped up two hunters with it after reading this post about 30 min ago
Its able to be embedded into armor, so better suited for vehicles. I’ve tried using it for infantry and it moves so slow…
