i mean i have 3 posters in my room where Master Cheif is holding dual SMG’s and to alot of the people iv talked to they all say when they think of Master Cheif they picture him holding Dual SMG’s
so i was wondering why ever since Halo2 they kinda forgot about the SMG
i personaly love the SMG and Would Love To see it in Halo4 even if it Sucks its just a part of halo to me and my friends!!!

I always thought the BR was more of a counterpart to the Chief.
with the expanded sandbox they keep bragging about it should be
Customs Classes. Many weapons. Many choices. No SMG? That makes sense.
It better be in the game. It wouldn’t make sense if it wasn’t.
ALSO! AR is 32 bullets in a mag while SMG is 60 (basically CE’s AR), so why not have it? I thought people wanted 60 automatic?

If it hasn’t been confirmed, I think there is a good chance it will make a return in Halo 4 as it is the sequel to Halo 3 and that has the SMG. We’ll just have to wait and see.

I always thought the Assault Rifle was his trademark weapon…

I would say the bellowed Assault Rifle, even though it’s useless Chief has used it in most game ads, commercials, box covers and such. It’s the most iconic Chief weapon, while Br is the most iconic Halo multiplayer weapon

I seriously doubt it, Dual wielding is out and hence there is no place for the SMG, unless it’s supposed to be a counter to shotty and AR, like the scattergun, but it still seems unlikely at best.
It had better. I’m tired of hearing my friend complain that he wants it back in the game.
If it is in, it might be a side arm since it’s duel wieldable.

No. Probably because it sucks and it’s basically the weaker version of an assault rifle, so there’s no real reason to have it. Though it WOULD be cool if they had the silenced version with the scope.
It’d be sort of like an assault rifle but the range on it is a lot longer, and depletes shields quickly.
SMGs kick -Yoink- imo

I thought it was confirmed somewhere. But it’ll basically be an fast shooting AR because of no dual wielding.

I really hope it’s in there, but I don;t know why some people assume it would be the same weapon as before. I don’t think there is duel-wielding, so it would get a buff in fire rate and a recoil reduction, but have just a little less power than the AR. The advantage the SMG had was the huge magazine capacity and was decent in CQB. So please 343i, bring it back.

Though since there are 15 different primary weapons and we have only seen like 8, it’s reasonable to assume it will be one of the unrevealed ones.
We also don’t know how many sidearms will be in the game, but we do know the Magnum and MAYBE the Plasma Pistol will be available.
