I’ll admit that I’m making this thread primarily in the hopes that someone at 343 Industries will see it and take it under advisement, but I think it will be interesting to discuss nonetheless. I realise that Frankie has at one point in time (I forget exactly when) remarked that, while the “ilovebees” Halo 2 ARG was both enjoyable and successful, they would likely not engage in another full-scale ARG in the future. However, despite this, some interesting phenomena occurred on the Bungie.net forums prior to Halo 3’s release, involving the AI Adjutant Reflex. Is there a possibility that we will see some similarly enigmatic goings on on this forum during the latter half of this year?
May be a stupid question but what is an ARG?
Alternate Reality Game
I wouldn’t really call ilovebees a game…

nieve question incoming:
what exactly was ilovebees?
all i know is that it was some kind of Bungie-made ARG

Perhaps not, but it fit the profile of what constitutes an “alternate reality game”, and I don’t particularly feel up to the challenge of inventing a new term to describe it.

I doubt whether I could explain what it was even if I tried. Instead, I’ll refer you to this article.
In short, no. Frankie already said they wont be doing any ARGs. He said they did it before but they no longer have any interest in doing them as they have become too common place to really be worthwhile. I’d post a link but I can’t find one.

I wouldn’t rule the idea out, and I certainly would be a fan of another ARG, however it looks as if it’s doubtful and low on the 343i priorities list. I’d rather every effort in the studio go towards making Halo 4 perfect, than have additional effort out towards an ARG.

You are refering to Halo A-Z, but don’t misinterpret what he is saying.
He says he does not want to do another ilovebees type ARG.
Not all ARGs in general.
Well 343 says they have an “amazing” marketing plan up their sleeves, so I am really excited to see what they do. Though a ARG would be pretty awesome. THe Ilovebees for Halo 2 was a huge success.

Not to be rude, but can you supply a source for this direct statement?
Not saying they don’t have a marketing plan, just curious.
