is there actually a legendary ending, or is it a youtube myth? and if there is why didn’t i get it do you need to finish solo?

I beat the Campaign on Legendary Solo and got the Legendary Ending.
However, when I helped my friend complete Legendary Co-Op. Knowing what the Legendary Ending is, I told him to be sure to watch the very ending of the last cutscene.
When it came time for the Legendary Ending, I said “Here it comes!”… And then it didn’t appear… I was confused. My brain hurt. When it ended, I looked and it said it was on Legendary difficulty, and he got the Achievement for it. He asked what it was, and didn’t see nothing, so I had to thus tell him what it was.
So no, the OP is not trolling. The Legendary Ending sometimes rarely doesn’t appear for some reason.
There is no legendary ending, but if you do solo legendary a surprise awaits you at the end of the prologue cutscene

It’s not that it rarely doesn’t appear. The only way to see it is solo legendary, co-op won’t have it show

I have friends that say they’ve seen it, and they’ve only beaten the Campaign on Legendary Co-Op. Maybe they meant on YouTube.
I beat it on easy and got one ending where master chief takes off his helmet.
Watch a legendary ending on youtube and when he takes off his helmet you see a face. Just sunken eyes. Can’t make out an eye color. He is white though.
Beat the game on co-op Legendary and was like ‘WTF’ after the epilouge ended, went on You Tube and say the real Legendary ending (very cool) and found out it only appears on solo Legendary.
Yea but to be honest guys the only real way to do the campaign is to beat it solo legendary by yourself first 
I beat it on co-op legendary and I still got the ‘special’ ending, so it is not true that it only happens on solo.
