Is there a joinable lobby for custom games?

I see people playing custom games and modes with full lobbies of people on videos. How are they getting into these games? Or are they just inviting their friends?

On Xbox, you can try the LFG area of the Social tab. Otherwise, most people are finding games on Discord. You can only join custom games with people on your Friends list.
