throughout the game there have been many claims that you can’t unlock certain emblems, armors and skins because the team quit or the pack is gone blah blah blah.
in another thread someone said you can’t get ODST helmets without the classic helmet pack or something, and I wanted to get a solid list of things perma locked if possible.
Related: I’m about 20-30 Legendary to Mythic level items short of everything besides emblems, so I was wondering what’s what before I get invested in unlock g the rest.
There is no “real” ODST helmet in the game.Only Helljumper and Nightfall and both are available through packs.
The best (and only) way to get mythic stuff are goldpacks.
There’s a bunch of skins you can’t get through reqs, some helmets (like 8-10), a couple armors(I think 2) that you can’t get through req packs.
Here is a list of armor I know of,
Achilles, helmet and armor
Timmy helmet
olive helmet
fire and ice unicorn skin
not sure about 343 industries skin, after watching a vid on a glitch
Despite plenty of armors and helmets I haven’t unlocked my gold packs keep giving me weapon/vehicle certs.
As for ODST, the closest you get is from watching Nightfall.

Halo 5 REQ Progress & Achievement Tracker
Been opening a gold pack about once a day, usually it’s a waste like a weapon/vehicle cert when I really want armor, but when I do get armor it’s usually ‘ultra rare’. I haven’t gotten anything higher. The only legendary armors I’ve gotten was either from buying the Halo 5 console, watching Nightfall, or buying Emile’s set.
Sticker shock pack was up for a bit. Not sure still up in store for cash?
I would think they all cept for team packs will be up for req points this fall.

Off the top of my head and maybe some one can help out the only things that can no longer be gotten by either bronze/silver/gold or money only packs are as follows…
*343 weapon skins(limited time thing), *HCS armor set that was limited time *HCS team weapon skin/emblem(the team is no longer a team)
*sticker shock weapon skins, which they unfortunately offered as a limited time pack that should have remained a December loot crate exclusive
*loot crate team Apollo emblem that came with the very first loot crate.
That is all I can think of right now. All other stuff is available in some sort of req pack whether it be the regular packs, buy only packs, or commendation packs.

Not the Librarian emblem, but you get that by joining the Halo Feedback program.

That is why I didn’t list the librarian emblem. This is for stuff that cannot be obtained by any means anymore

Completely agree. I did that. Plus a few bronze packs for the 5 vehicle certs (for the mongooses). Now every time I open a gold pack I unlock 2 or 3 ultra rare, legendary, and/or mythic items. Ik there are about 9 helmets you have to purchase through the store. I believe there are 6 rare, 2 ultra rare, and maybe a legendary. The pack is $9.99. Nightfall helmet and armor you can get by watching NIGHTFALL on the halo channel but might be available via req. Helioskill I’ve heard is available via req packs now or I think you can earn it by beating the MCC on Legendary difficulty. Achilles armor and helmet you have to earn by joining a Spartan Company and mastering all commendations. If I’m wrong with any of this someone will surely correct me. Hope this helps.

Did that. Already finished silvers. But still 343 trolls me by giving me a gun skin and a wasp cert in a gold pack. Thanks, I still have like 100 helmets to unlock. Maybe if you didn’t make weapon/vehicle certs part of the perm unlocks I’d be further along.
