In a sense you do grind for it. Just keep grinding out points and opening packs. It’s still best to open silvers till they refund points instead of unlocks then open golds rather than play the RNG game of opening random packs.

Yeah thats what I did, nearly finished the Req system. Only need around 7-10 more packs

Wish I could say the same. One night I was drinking and haloing and I really really wanted that H2BR and at the time I didn’t know how many gold packs I needed so I got that yoinking $99 bundle… At the time I loved it cause yeah I got the rifle in the bundle… But later I was like man why did I do that… As they say you live and learn 
As other Waypointers above me have mentioned, just keep on opening gold packs and pray for luck. You’ll get it eventually.

its one of the rarest items in req packs, and for good reason, its powerful; no recoil, 3 burst kill… also its the best looking gun in the game in many peoples opinion
This is way too much dependent on luck, like i got the this br at around SR 50. Its not just mad grinding, it has more luck than you can imagine in it.

I can agree on this; I was gambling on getting a good unlock from a Gold Pack before I was Level 45, and I managed to nab Defender Fortress (my first Legendary unlock) very early in the game. Subsequent packs were meh and I was back to the Silver-Gold method. But yes, a lot of luck is involved in the unlocks.
I got the H2 BR around 120 ish some would say that is pretty early but yes It definitely took alot of gold packs to get this to drop for me.

OP, it’s all RNG, but if you want to use it now, there are many custom games that have it as the default weapon. Also it’s in many arena and BTB maps too.

The halo 2 BR is sort of worth it?
Sure it is hell alot better looking than halo 5’s Br that’s for sure but it’s not a reskin.
the H2 BR is more of a quicker variant of the BR, faster ADS, Reload speed (I believe) and has more aim assist than the other BR.
the only downfall is that it is a one of the type gun, no mods for it what so ever.
Would I recommend it? yeah, half way through warzone it’s good but when you reach to the req where BRs have laser sights, extend barrels then have it as a backup weapon.

UPDATE: I now have all Assualt Rifle, Battle Rifle & Armor mod certifications… it should only be a matter of time until I get it.

First off congrats on getting those out of the way. Just be aware that you’re still at the mercy of the RNG gods and the bloated REQ catalog. You could get it today or much, much later…just be prepared to get A LOT of armor and helmet unlocks along the way. Before I unlocked the H2BR, I would scavenge dead Spartans in WZ for it lol. Since it’s a loadout weapon, you get unlimited ammo refills until you die or lose it. Good luck!
I don’t even remember when I unlocked, but I did finish the grind at around SR 130. Don’t buy more Reqs with real money the randomness of the system makes it not worth it. Learn from LethalQ.
Shoot my buddy is newish to the game and unlocked the H2BR at like SR 20. I think it’s just a game of chance, man.
