Because I am sick and tired of locust just at my base for 0.2 seconds and destroying it! Yes I scouted didn’t find anything about to expand and look at my and it’s gone!
I’m sure there is one, but there isn’t much to do about it. If you’ve played Command and Conquer the beam cannons work in a similar capacity. In fact, they get damage buffs from being in groups. They can melt whole bases in seconds if done the right way, which is saying something considering that whole armies of end game units can’t do that.

Yes, but in C&C3 they can’t hit air and can be taken out easily by a quick Orca Strike (the power, not the unit/ if they stand still)

Yeah, they were glass cannons. Are locust the glass cannons they were in the first game?

Locusts are the glassiest cannon you’ll find in this game.

I thought so. I’ve lost locusts frequently, but I only ever have two at any given time, so it’s kinda hard to tell.
I wouldn’t know cause I always play as Pavium. Two Mega Turret shots will destroy the locust ball. Besides locusts health is terrible, i’m pretty sure rangers and grunts are the only units they can beat in a 1v1 situation. Just scout often and counter their units, pretty much follow the basic premise of the game and you’ll be fine. Plus balls of units are big targets for leader powers, plop one mac blast, eradication or any other airstrike and its game over for their army. I believe I’ve ever lost to a locust ball before. Besides, which leader do you prefer, 95% of the leaders have heavy actives that will decimate them.
In my opinion I don’t have a problem with it, locust are VERY weak. If you fart in the wrong direction you’ll break a few of them. That being said if you have literally any units at your base defending you shouldn’t have a problem. As a mass locust user myself I can say leaders like or Forge or Jerome are pretty scary to go up against as a tier 3 Scatter Bomb/Enuduring Conviction can wreck an entire army of locust, sure you can move them out of the way put you’ll still lose a few locust as they aren’t the fastest things in the world. And it’s not like they are OP either. They are terrible against units, any unit besides grunts they will get wrecked by, why do you think they are good against bases? If you nerf them they become completely useless. If anything they need to be buffed or reduce the amount of power they need to be trained with but thats just my opinion.

You know how a single rocket squad can kill the Beams in C&C3? I’m not entirely confident a single Cyclops could stand up to a single Locust. They are still pretty squishy, but they aren’t as squishy as the Beam was in comparison. They can still outrange most things though, and hit air.
Thank goodness 343/CA didn’t implement a damage buff for massing them. Leader abilities are probably the best way to handle mass Locust imo. They used to have a huge health pool alongside their good DPS, but were nerfed awhile back. Still a good investment to have a few tho. Mass air is the current meta.

Locusts do not need any buff as i like using them myself. They can act as kiting autillery and smoke base turrets and production very nicely. Also my favorite, attack a base with a frontal assult while Locust destroys base on a hill where their army will take a minute to get to.

Anyone who masses air is actually at an economic risk because of their high costs.

Not as much of an economic risk as countering it is. There are two people who defend mass air, those who abuse it and those who are ignorant of it’s power. Core Air costs no power, only supplies. Anti Air costs power and almost as many supplies as the air vehicle itself. If someone manages to get mass air and you don’t already have a massive AA army ready, you’ve already lost. Even if you do have an AA army ready, it’s really more of a gamble either way.

Same goes for sending against Pavium, when it only takes 2-3 Mega Turret hits to destroy a whole army of Locusts. The only way I can see past this is simply teleporting them straight to the enemy base.

i have created small number of reavers to stay at my base and the build half reavers and Locusts to combat air. Reavers are actually very effective as anti air while wolfs are also great.

Wolves great? What game are you playing?
Nah Locust have been nerfed enough in this game. Leave them alone they’re in a good place for once.

In small of reavers or wolfs vs hornets or banshees, AA will barely win; But in larger numbers of AA vs Air, AA will win by a great degree because of their AOE damage which makes them great so yes, AA works exactly as intended and does a great job at it. The only thing I would agree on is they actually cost too much power and rather raise their supplies cost in exchange for less power.

You have two options to deal with mass air.
Mass AA and barely win and die later or just outright die. Bases beat AA
I have an idea on how to nerf groups of Locusts without nerfing the Locust itself directly. Know how Omega Team and Jerome have the Inspire Buff Aura?
Do that, but where it only affects Locusts in groups of, idk, 5 or more? Make it stack up to a 40% nerf or something. Just throwing the idea out there. It’s basically a reverse Inspire. Locusts are still waaaaay easier than mass air.
