Need to trademark that name. The Wraith Stretch™
Anyway as the title asks, are these highly skippable leader points? I never see Jerome or Arbiter making their APCs, can the same be said for Pavium? If so that makes me sad as it is his only unique units besides the turret.
Ok no responses. Is that a confirmed negative then?
Uhm, I don’t know, you only could fill it with counters, unlike Jerome or Arby that also can put Anti Building on their APCs, I think is better go for the auto heal passive.
My feeling is no. None of the APCs seem like they are used at all in my experiences playing the game. Which is a shame to me. Its difficult to manage these armies on a controller and these would be an effective way of making it feel less cumbersome when you get bigger armies.
I think it may have been more usable if it was an actual wraith with the same mortar. Honestly there isn’t really a good reason why it traded that for a pea shooter in the first place. Is the siphon on it any good? Also why is it Pavium can only heal buildings? Why not give his drone the same ability as the combat mechanics that marines get?
I actually like using Phantoms as Arbiter loaded with Elite Enforcers. They make for excellent anti-building bombers that can destroy minibases before your enemy knows what’s happening.
But as for the land APCs, I don’t find them as useful due to their limited mobility. The Phantom’s flight gives it a distinct edge.
The only thing I can see them being useful for is shielding your Elite Rangers. Hunters are beefy enough on their own, so a Hunter/Wraith Invader/Elite Ranger mix would be pretty strong, and the only real thing to counter it would be Air. It would also free up a building slot if you go single Raid Camp. The only problem with all the troop transport units is that they require a Leader Point. They’re all actually pretty useful, but it’s just always more cost effective to invest in some other Leader Point.
