Is the Warthog now worth its weight?

i haven’t had a chance to play BTB yet

whenever i got my hand on a warthog before, i could snag a measly 6-8 wheelmans with it
but with the buffed Gun that i haven’t yet used, i’m not sure how it plays out

is the Hog finally back to its former glory?

Not with PP and plasma nades still prominent

Not really. Since all the precision weapons were upgraded you or your gunner gets picked off in seconds if you go out into the open

On maps like Meltdown and Vortex it’s brilliant, Ragnorak leaves you open to sniping

Not until you can no longer spawn with PP and plasma grenades.

It’s definitely better in the damage department but vehicles still feel like paper in terms of their health.

i love how everyone is still complaining. they fixed the game. if there is a little problem like the warthog being slightly less resistant to stickies, deal with it.

Only played on Settler - the Sticky/PP/getting shot out of the vehicle were all in play. But even with that, it seemed that the increased power plus the speed makes it worth the gamble. We played CTF, and the other team used Warthog and we went on foot, they won.

So if they try and get killed, we’d have to counter before they respawned. If we missed, they had a score for sure. At least twice I was dropped before I could get off the charged PP.

How can you deal with near-useless vehicles? You don’t, you die instead.

I love halo 4 but not being able to use one of the most iconic vehicles due to it blowing up almost instantly is like playing gears without the gore and the swearing or mass effect without Garrus the list goes on. They could of altered the damage done to the warthog, thats not to say that we don’t appreciate what they’ve done it has really improved it

I love the new warthog. Having a good driver with a gunner who knows what they’re doing dominates the game, but good teamwork still puts it down. i think the damage buff was enough.

It’s really the plasma pistol and grenade combo that wreck the vehicles. It takes about 4-5 sticks to end a Scorpion.

BOT the Warthog with a competent driver is very deadly…map counts too

In a word, YES.

in pro, yes

Not really, I barley noticed the chain gun buff. But it wrecks in Slayer Pro!

The vehicles like the weapons were plenty viable pre patch. All the patch has done is made things easier for lesser skilled people. Don’t get me wrong i like the buffs. I just didn’t really believe they were needed. But my opinion is biased because i’m an above average gamer. So i preform better then most which is probably why i have a hard time seeing the need for said changes.

Well I can tell you this, now with all these damage buffs your warthog will feel like its made of bubbles instead of paper.

It’s not the power of the vehicle’s weapons or even (for the most part) the vehicle’s health that’s the problem. It’s loadouts. It always has been. They’re the origin of all of the balance problems in Halo 4. You shouldn’t be able to spawn with plasma pistols, or plasma grenades or the boltshot or camo. This is the problem. As long as we can have custom loadouts in big team the warthog (and all of the other vehicles) will always feel sort of worthless.

Or it could be the fact that you can spawn with the PP and Plasma nades that are at fault not loadouts which are a perfect idea
