I’m debating on whether or not to get the map pass for $20. My main reason for getting it would be to enjoy the Majestic map pack and then possibly castle if it’s good. I’ve played the crimson pack and felt it was pretty lackluster so I don’t really care for those maps.
Here are a few things that I’m weighing in on my decision:

I’m not really hooked on this game like I was on previous halos and I typically don’t play more than 10 hours a week or sometimes not at all.

I do enjoy BTB so if castle is good then it might be worth it.

I don’t want to buy separately because majestic itself will not keep me entertained too long I think and if I buy both majestic and castle then I might as well have gotten the map pass to play crimson for some variety once in a while.

I’m broke/saving up for other things haha.

I’m thinking of getting Skyrim at which point I don’t really see myself playing this game much longer.

Once my Gold membership runs out in a few months I probably wont renew it because I haven’t really been hooked on any multiplayer games that I have played so far.
Anyway, I’m just seeking some honest advice from people that have the pass or the majestic map pack. Share with me your wisdom!
Also, I don’t want to get the pass after castle comes out because then I probably wont see the majestic maps too often in regular playlists.
Personally, I would wait until Castle comes out and see what people think. If it’s as bad as Crimson, I would say don’t buy it. And if you do get Skyrim, be warned that you’ll probably find yourself addicted really fast! That game tends to suck up a lot of time!
Didn’t see the second post before I posted. If you think the Crimson maps look good, then go for it. I didn’t actually like them very much. The Majestic maps were a lot better.

NOPE! There isn’t a single good map in all of Halo 4. I was excited for the Majestic map pack - they were supposed to be small maps. Turns out they aren’t - they’re either sorta big or actually pretty damn big. 343i’s idea of map design to to just randomly stuff rocks and wall segments all over the place.

Good plan! I didn’t get all the hype for it. I didn’t think it seemed that fun until I played it. Then I just couldn’t stop. I would get the DLC if I could afford it.

Ragnarok isn’t a Halo 3 map. Valhalla is alot smaller and better looking.
I would’ve spent less money buying Majestic and nothing else if I hadn’t gotten the map pack with the deluxe version. Yeah, more people are in Big Team than any other playlist, but there’s at least equal to that in every other playlist combined so…why all the big maps?
Its alot more cost efficient to buy the map pass than buy all the map packs separately. Id say overall if you want the maps get the pass.
Get the Map Pass, not only do you get 9 maps, you get two exclusice helmets and an emblem.
if you dont renew your gold then dont bother. personally i was happy i got it(though i got mine through the limited edition) because i didnt have to worry about the map packs or cheevos once they came out plus the armor and emblems are pretty nice imo. also if you are going to get skyrim and you are a rpg fan no shooter will pull you away from it. halo is my fav franchise but iv put over 300 hours into skyrim.
I am so glad that the War Games Pass came with the LE version of the game, because I if I bought the game and then bought the Pass I would be angry as hell with its poor value

On topic, yes, I say the pass is worth it.
Yes:
#1 Its cheaper than buying them individually
#2 The helmets aren’t bad looking.
Um, maybe. Depends on how good castle is. Majestic was better than crimson… So maybe?

If you dont care about those maps then why spend 2000 ms points for the map pass when you can just spend 1600 ms points on the other 2 packs. Besides getting maps for a game with no DLC required playlist with low population and you will have a hard time getting to play on those maps.

You do realise you paid extra money for the LE due to the extra content sutch as the map pass.

Crimson Map Pack hands down sucks absolute -Yoink- and should not be downloaded. I in fact have deleted it off my HDD.

Majestic Map Pack is worth the 800 M$P. The maps are 4V4 and you can have some form of competition on them.

Castle Map Pack hasn’t come out so I won’t make judgements. However the mere fact it’s Vehicle combat is already making me not consider it.
At this point in time do not buy the map pass. Buy Majestic and Castle if you want for 800 each and save 400. Crimson should be taken off Xbox Live. Do Not buy it. The playlist it self had 200 players before it got cut and the maps sucked bad in general.
