Am I alone thinking that the voice acting in spartan ops is bad? It’s awkward to listen to the childish conversations between what’s supposed to be military people. The way they talk belongs in a bad movie for 7 year old kid.
Egghead…
Don’t know why some of them act like your stereotypical military jarhead, I agree it can get annoying. At least characters like Lasky, Thorne, Halsey, and Roland have deeper personalities and are interesting to listen to.
Also I wouldn’t criticize the voice actors, they’ve done pretty darn good. I think what you’re referring to is the script writing.
Indeed the voice acting is not up to par. The standout performance is Jennifer Hale as Palmer, but only because she’s Jennifer Hale. Jared Miller sounds like a damn nasal nerd, and Majestic just cracks jokes. It seems Thorne is the only character with some depth to his performance, but for whatever reason no one else delivers.

As much as i hate Sarah Palmer in character, Jennifer Hale did a fantastic job voicing her. Along with her, the voice actor for Lasky and Roland in SpOps were by far the best, and i cannot deny that. However, some voice acting was pretty bad. There’s a whole list i can give you but, like I said, the best Voices were Palmer, Lasky, and Roland in SpOps.
> Egghead…
lol, well thats obvious.
Voice acting is amazing
Screen writing ehhhh not soo much
Miller is by far the dumbest spartan I have ever seen in existence, I mean even Caboose is dumb for comedic purposes and has some moments of maturity, but Miller just seems oblivious to the fact that he is in the military, a grown man, a spartan, and most of all a freaking mission handeler.
Just goes to show how the standards for becoming a Spartan have decreased greatly, I can only imagine the standards to being a regular marine…

The problem with these assertions is that these characters had great voice acting and they had 95% of the dialogue…
Only thing that I didn’t like was the way they talk down to master chief. I understand he has a job to do but they seem a little too bossy and don’t seem to treat the chief with much respect.
That’s why I only like the Covenant scenes in the CGI, because ironically the Elites and such are more likable characters than all the annoying idiots of the Infinity.

I’m inclined to agree. While Roland improved as a character in the second half of the season, Miller got worse. It got to the point where he was actually yelling at us, which made him sound terribly melodramatic. I’d have thought that a prerequisite to being a mission handler would be the ability to keep calm under pressure.
I also feels that he talks a little too much, which can get on my nerves a little.

AL qaeda would make the voice sound like a bomb
I thought the voice acting was great to be honest. Didn’t really like the screen writing at some parts.
The voice acting was good. The things they were saying were not.
I think you mean to say the screen writing wasn’t good, because the voice actors were great. The only voice actor I didn’t like in H4…Is Steve Downes… I’m sorry his performance on chief just wasn’t good.

Shun the non believer!
Sorry. He’ll always be the voice of chief, even if he doesn’t put too much emotion into what he says. He is playing someone who was raised from the age of six to be a stone cold killing machine, so we can’t exactly expect too much emotion.

I’m not expecting emotion. I just feel this time around it was rather…Half hearted. I didn’t feel the same energy from H3’s performance as I did in H4’s, and some of the lines he delivers are just awkward…Not writing, just performance wise, even for Master Chief.

Probably because he talks to much now.
In Halo 1-3 it was more just one or two words. Now he’s talking in fully coherent sentences, which will take away from the effect.
The voice acting is good, some lines (eggheads) are awful (eggheads) though
I thought it was good. The only problem I have is with Palmer. If she showed respect for people smarter than her and didn’t hate Halsey so much, then she might be respected by fans. Which that might change in the future if/when she learns the truth.
