Comparing the full-auto precision weapons from Reach and Infinite, the magazine size and damage are similar whereas the recoil/bloom/bullet spread differs.
The Commando has bloom, whereas in MCC’s version of Reach, the Needle Rifle’s bloom is nonexistent: the fire button can be held down with no shot pacing necessary.
Similar to Guardians’ precision bloom, the reticle for the Needle Rifle changes radius yet maintains astronomical precision.
Infinite cleverly implements bloom to nuance gameplay: both pacing and crouching for stability uphold the mantle of proximity strategy.
no I don’t see the comparison in it I’d look at it more of a slower paced M739 SAW

I agree with this analysis, it does have range and the ability to use it semi / full auto. It is a precision weapon but can be used in close range with success. The bloom is basically the nerf, in addition to not having the needle burst feature.
It’s a cross between the DMR and the SAW.
No i feel like it’s more of a cross between the AR and BR. A nice addition to the sandbox and a cool utility weapon.
Its waaaay better than a needler rifle, thats for sure.
It seems more like a slower more precise SAW
