Is the sun on Requiem internal?

If the shieldworld’s sun is internal, like the one in Halo wars, then how come there is day and night cycles inside the planet? if the sun is not internal then how is it EVER day time as the whole planet is guarded by an inner shell which wouldn’t allow light to get through (presumably)

Maybe the sun could be turned off like a light bulb.

Dude… forerunners

The Shield World in Halo Wars is quite different than Requiem.

In Halo Wars, the SW was basically a shell with a lightbulb in it’s center. Requiem however, is an actual planet inside of an outer shell.

In regards to the day/night cycles, I assume that it has to do with Requiem’s “ceiling”, which is the inside surface of the outer shell.

Requim isn’t set up like the Shield world in Halo Wars. Requim is a planet with an outer shell suspended above the surface. There are solar generator stations on the inside of the shell and provide the day and night cycles. The map Haven (Formerly known as wraparound) is based right near one of these solar generators.

Requiem is a Micro-Dyson Sphere so the sun should be internal. It’s also quite possible the sun, for all intents and purposes, is artificial and can be turned off, so to speak.

Yeah its inside the Planet. An artificial light bulb of sun baked goodness.

Cannot wait to explore requiem!

I don’t think there even is a sun on Requiem, since it’s a planetoid surrounded by a big metal shell. There are most likely some big lights above the “sky”, kind of like a room in a house. Since we know there is a night cycle (since some videos show nighttime sequences), I believe that the lights turn on, dim and turn off to imitate night and day.

maybe the use teleporters to move it or here is a theory that it is not internal and instead is on the exterior shining through one sided forerunner material

Wasn’t Haven confirmed to be a solar light generation station when it was first revealed earlier this year? maybe there are lots of these stations attatched to the metal shell that generate artificial sunlight and beam it onto Requiem’s surface.

Facepalm.

Now go away. This ain’t a Q&A.

It’s a forum, where people are allowed to talk about Halo and ask questions about it. I honestly don’t see the problem with him asking us for our opinions or for the right answer, especially if he doesn’t know so himself.

There’s no need to be so rude, it’s much better for the community to be helpful and courteous, don’t you agree?

No it is not… you are thinking of the center of Onyx. it has to do with the inner part of requiem’s shield (ceiling) probably artificial lights.

Yes, the sunlight is generated. In fact, I believe the map Haven, the one that’s all white-ish and really bright, is actually one of these light-generation facilities.

This describes Requim’s structure.

Although I’ve seen a couple of theories on how this works, I’m going to go ahead and choose this. Wonder if the forerunners ever forgot to turn the sun off and ran up a massive bill.

Requiem is a very different Shield World than the one from Halo Wars. The on in HW had a mini sun in the center of a micro dysonsphere. This means that the inside of the structure was made to look like a planet. Requiem is a shield world that contains an actual planet and a mini sun, so all the micro star has to do is orbit the planet to simulate night/day cycles.

In the forerunner trilogy it was said the forerunners had the ability to manipulate stars. Solar engineering. I don’t think it would be hard for them to make some artificial sunlight.
