It’s kind of hard to tell when we don’t have all the information.
Once the launch trailer hits us we will know more.
As of right now though, it looks pretty decent compared to what we have experienced so far.
I wasn’t expecting a huge season that was gonna revive Infinite, but it definitely is the bare minimum
I’ll pop in and check it out, but 75% sure I’ll probably not buy the Season Pass. TWO MAPS isn’t enough to make me want to blow money and grind for months again on maps and challenges I hate. I might do the Fracture one day per month.
That’s a fair point, It’s entirely possible they have more content for us but the cynic in me is screaming. The scary thing is they haven’t announced if Season 2 will be 3 months officially and i don’t think the game can sustain another Season 1 Fiasco.
Back when they delayed S1, they said S1 would be 6 months while S2 and beyond would be the normal 3.
So unless they have to delay again, it will be 3 months, although you do have a point.
A lot of people have pointed out that they haven’t “officially” announced the length of S2 and they still haven’t come out and said," Hey, S2 will be 3 months."
Kind of worrying
Two maps – only one of which most people will regularly see because BTB is less popular than standard Arena modes – is pathetic for a so-called “live service” game. I’m not going to give them kudos for bringing back a mode that is standard Halo fare and should have been there at launch (KotH). Last Spartan Standing looks to be a time-limited only mode.
Not nearly enough.
My biggest disappointment is hearing the Spartan Career progression system is still only in its design phase.
Was blindly hoping it would be introduced during Season 2 but the way they made it sound it doesn’t even feel like it’s coming out this year now.
This game happens to be able to provide me with dopamine boosts and doesn’t require me to lug my console around. I don’t know if I have much of a choice but to play to keep my dopamine levels regular.
I will be more pleased if they announce at least 1 more map coming mid-season. The communication they posted the last couple of days and changes this season along with a little new content are a good start, but I really hope we get more than 1 4v4 map at some point this season.
The first 2 - 3 months of season 1 were quite enjoyable for me. So if it is indeed 3 months this time around I think it might go a lot better than last season.
The question is if the new additions will be enough to keep me playing and I honestly don’t know. It will depend a bit on how they deal with the new playlist/mode additions. One thing that is likely to help is that the new BP will mean there will be something to work towards again which for me has been missing since New Years (when I completed BP1).
I hope they find into a more regular cadence for patches as well. There’s quite a lot of open issues even after the bugfixes they announced for Season 2.
No. Not enough maps, not enough modes.
The average player is coming back to what…get another battle pass, a map, and like 2 modes? It doesn’t change anything.
4 new modes (5 if you count attrition)
and some new variants, so technically more, + events.
And the story content (although that might be just a cutscene, but I’m hoping for more)
Overall, it’s not like S2 is going to be “INFINITE’S REVIVAL!!!”
But it will attract a lot of players back to the game.
If Infinite has a revival, I expect it to be S3 or a future season. (season 3 due to forge, future season due to this upcoming “big” mode being worked on)
Saw the War Master helmet at the end of the trailer, I’ll say I’m keen
For me, it won’t be enough unless they announce new campaign/canon oriented content. I really don’t want any of this serial multiplayer narrative crap either, I want more content for the campaign involving all the missing characters etc., and updates for the open world, which make the game actually satisfying to play all the way through.
I won’t hold my breath.
People want the original render for 152 watchdog fix I can understand but, LEAVE RED SHIFT COATING ALONE !!!
Two maps are far from enough… And I am not sure if the modes function well or just like BTB. Even it is playable, I strongly doubt that I will like them. I am actually not a big fan of gun game. But what can we complain? We are tired of words and clearly it is everything that 343 can provide us now. I agree with @GusTank04 , it won’t bring infinite back alive, but it have to support the game until season3. Until then, I hope 343 can make the whole game enjoyable and complete. If not, we all know the result.
Halo will never die, but can’t say the same thing for 343.
Unless they add manual selection for the Server I play on (like MCC or H5) and honour it, there is ZERO possibility I will even bother re-installing Halo Infinite on my Xbox.
With Ping Times of 250 ms (I’m in Alberta Canada and instead of connecting me to Seattle Servers at 25ms ping times, they connect to Amsterdam at 250 ms), the game is unplayable. Not wasting my time until this is fixed.
Ping problem is so bad. I hear the same problem from everywhere of the world
It is very serious and must be put at high priority.
Any content better than no content.
Where’s the “Yes, but only for about a day” option?
Idk if I could ever give this game as much time as I give other games or even the MCC games. I think from head-to-toe Infinite is a poorly designed game. They’d need to let go of that arrogance for me to ever fully return. They think they know stuff when clearly they don’t, which is what turns me away the most. We give them feedback and they basically just go, “thanks for the feedback but we disagree”, which then sparks a response out of me like oh it’s like that? Bet! Well I disagree with your entire existence as a studio, so I guess that’s that.
