Thank goodness it hasn’t been patched out. I just completed LASO and had it with me. While it made some things easier, particularly in the open world; it just made some of the main missions way more annoying. Hunters being shot into the air to rain fire upon me, always having to jump to fire and hit anything which got me shot to pieces a lot of the time. And it wasn’t actually all that great against the actual bosses. But I’m proud of completing my first LASO and I’m happy I had a fun gun to kind of help me out with it. Was fun, frustrating but fun. I hope the scorpion gun doesn’t get patched.
I highlighted the history of LASO and both Bungie’s and 343i’s support for the people and methods used to beat them. Can you source anything about 343i not approving the use of these glitches to beat LASO? All you have done is state your opinion and brought no facts to support it.
Honestly, since 343i verifiably used their authority to show approval for the use of speed-running exploits, encounter skipping, enemy despawning glitches, co-op etc. I can safely and confidently say that I got the achievements legit. Your opinion means little-to-nothing because, as you know, you do not work at 343i and aren’t the authority.
Right on, my friend! You know, throughout my entire history with Halo Mythic/LASO, I’ve only know ONE person to play a Halo mission on the hardest difficulty setting without using any glitches and taking out every enemy. It was Vincent K. The mission was Tip of the Spear in Halo Reach. It took him nearly two hours, but he did it. It was also the only mission in which he did it.
For those who want to do it the hard way, as NumberGoos3590 puts it, you do you. If that makes you feel better about yourself, fine. I’d absolutely LOVE to see videos of you actually doing what you claim. This, of course, would also mean not using any sort of strategy guides or videos to use as a point of reference for your runs. Otherwise, you’re still “cheating” since you aren’t figuring these things out for yourself, but rather, you’re relying on the tactics of others.
I’ve been writing Halo walkthroughs for nearly 14 years. You don’t want to utilize the strategies that I myself as well as many other Mythic community members have developed for you, then don’t. That’s your choice. But don’t act like your way is the only way either. If the LASO community tried to follow your example, NumberGoose, it wouldn’t still exist today.
And thank you again, Hayk_R for the shoutout. No, I wasn’t expecting to be here either. I just happened to click on the link talking about the Scorpion Gun, and was very pleasantly surprised to see my name brought up. You made an old fossil feel relevant again, my brother, and thank you. I’m writing my review for Halo Infinite as we speak, and I’ve already filmed the intros for my Legendary walkthrough. I hope you enjoy both

I will be sure to watch your guides. I appreciate that you’re doing both a guide with the Scorpion Gun and a guide without it.
Thank you very much! And yes, absolutely! I realize that at some point in time, 343 will eventually allow for missions to be selectable within the main menu rather than having to start the entire game over. In that instance, the Scorpion Gun will become completely irrelevant since it can only be obtained in Mission 3. At that point, players are going to NEED a walkthrough without it. But for now, at least, it’s something that folks can pick up along the way, and it will definitely help them immensely when it comes to getting that Legendary achievement. Your words mean a lot to me, and thank you, my brother

Strategies is not cheating lmao nice coping mechanism. exploiting and breaking the game is cheating. by your logic in saying that, the professional at halo are cheaters, anyone who plays the game is a cheater because they unintenionally used a strategy that someone else did before them. yea nice try but yall need to stop cheating.
Wow, Mythic didn’t think to see you here. Shout to your guide’s man that has not only helped me but has helped thousands and thousands of gamers. Now back to the topic you tell him like it is mythic, gamers look for exploits in games then use them it’s just what they do.
Also, I agree with them not patching out the scorpion gun why because we had the same thing in halo 2 the scarab gun and they never touched that. Even in MCC they let you have a skull that would literally allow the scarab gun to fire from your weapon.
Laso wasn’t required for recon it had only to do with vidmasters. No one is talking about that. …smh
After looking at your account I could not help but to see that you have not cleared a single Halo game on LASO nor do you have a record of doing any vidmasters on the 360. I encourage you to give them a try if you want to challenge yourself. There are some great guides on Youtube that 343i has encourage people to use if you get stuck.
That’s on me. I brought up how Recon was rewarded to the OGs who invented Mythic/LASO before they were available to the general public through the vidmasters.
TBH I think Goose is either trolling at best or very ignorant at worst.
the tank gun was the only reason i actually finished the campaign, i am not gonna spend my lifetime on rng boss fights
You keep telling people to cope, yet it sounds like you need to cope.
I am playing on Xbox One, and while the Scorpion gun is present and working, it doesnt seem to be advancing my progress towards completing missions on Heroic or Normal difficulty.
Apparently when they fixed issues with the achievements not popping at the right time (now they should), tracking for achievements got messed up. I’d say still continue on. When I completed my LASO run it wasn’t tracking and I still got the achievements at the end and I also had the scorpion gun.
You hit the nail on the head, the campaign is, and always has been, about experiencing it the way you want. There is no way that it’s “meant” to be played. Some of the most fun in these games are finding new things, and creating stuff new and/or hilarious.
I don’t see why they would patch it out. The campaign is beyond easy anyway. Chiefs power weapon emporium to just grant every marine a sentinel beam. Easy access to ammo for almost all weapons.
Most bosses can be planned for and cheesed. One of them I randomly grappled onto a area that he couldn’t reach me and just stood below me while I killed him.
The campaign is going to need a new difficulty above legendary now that disables all the hand holding for any respect to be given to beating it on legendary.
I was one of the players to get recon from bungie thanks to mythic and his amazing guides.
They released the armor to the wider public via vidmaster achievements sometime later.
It’s not wreckage of the Infinity, it’s actually a frigate that crashed there.
Not to mention FOBs give you guns on demand endlessly, so you can load up to your hearts content before each mission.
Not sure what happened to me but my scorpion gun vanished.
I tried going back to the infinity wreckage or restarting the mission.
Sadly, nothing brings it back.
Just completed my LASO, was able to take the turret all the way through. So doesn’t appear it’s patched.
