If its patched, they should strip the LASO achievements from players who used it, that wasn’t speed running, that was exploiting the game, cheating and in my books, They didn’t beat the game on LASO.
This game is basically impossible to beat on LASO once you realize the effects of some skulls and how the bosses can 1 shot kill you on any difficulty, besides the gaming journalist difficulty.
^ FACTS ^
343 Industries should strip you from the LASO Achievement if you used the Tank Gun Glitch.

I can confirm it’s patched, you can still pick it up yet it does no damage and no impact so it’s just for the novelty at this point, I really wanted to see the power just for the lols
Edit: It’s nerfed not unusable, if you look directly at enemies it may not fire now leaving you vulnerable. It’s like a risky power weapon. You have to drop down off the initial platform for it to show its effect.

you sound like bug abusing cheater. youre not meant to cheat to win. that completely trivializes the challenge. Cope more LASO cheaters should be stripped
youre clearly desperate to justify your cheating habits. You did not do LASO legit, youre a cheater and your achievement is null and fake.
try playing the game legitly and getting good and youll see those achievements are still obtainable. You just arent as skilled in Halo.
First off i’m not ,I’m stating a fact about laso. If you dont believe me go ask the speed runners and original laso players themselves. And second who are you to dictate that? And whi are you to dictate and say that someone is null and that it trivializes it? Would you say that about the skulls? Because bandanas a skull would you say that’s cheating of course you would.,
Also I just started my laso run and have only finished mission 2 so far so run your mouth with false.
And you commit the simple, in ssuming which makes a yoink out of yourself

so, was the Scorpion gun there for you when you did your test?
Yes i can confirm ive just done it and the scorpion gun glitch is still there and available to use in full force! Ypu have to start a new game and be on the level outpost tremonius and you have to get the weapon before you board the pelican after you’ve cleared tremonius outpost you can not gp back and get this gun later on in the game you will have to start again!

I used the guides provided by the man who invented LASO (Mythic). If anyone is an authority on what is an acceptable way to beat LASO it would be him, not you.

Awww! Thank you for the shoutout and the kind words! Game on, my friend!

This is false. The super-Sword lunge was patched in Halo 2. The devs CHOSE to keep in BxR. How do I know? Because I was regularly communicating with a few of the Bungie folks directly and regularly waaaaay back in the day.

So, I’ll throw in my own two cents on this issue. First off, intentional or not, I highly, and I mean HIGHLY doubt that 343i will patch out the Scorpion Gun. Impossible? No. But still doubtful. Why? Halo games have had major bugs/glitches dating all the way back to Combat Evolved. And even after these games were revamped into either Anniversary editions or ported to a different platform, these glitches remain in-game. Is it because they don’t have the ability to “fix” them? No, of course not. But why “fix” something that allows players to experience the game in a new way and give it even more replay value? I can understand fixing a bug if it pertains to multiplayer to help prevent cheating, but not campaign. That’s left up to the player’s personal experience, and it only effects them and them alone.
Hayk_R is absolutely correct in that I, and many other Mythic/LASO completionists have been using bugs and glitches dating all the way back to the days of Halo 3. One of the most famous bugs, of course, is the forklift glitch in the mission Nightfall in Halo Reach. Essentially, it allows you to skip all of the final Covenant encounters in the mission. Is it still in Halo Reach? Yes. Is it in Halo Reach in both MCC Xbox as well as PC? Also yes. And I can’t even begin to count the number of glitches that both myself and the rest of the community utilized in Halo 4.
Case in point, unless we’re talking about a bug that legit keeps the player from actually playing the game (crash bugs, etc.) it’s never a wise decision to patch it out as it only takes something away from the overall player experience.
I hope this makes sensse. Game on, my friends!

he doesnt work or program for 343 so he isnt the authority. You just dont know how to play the game properly. cope more, get good at the game instead of cheating and using exploits to push game boundaries and breaking them.
the scorpion gun takes away from the player experience by trivializing content that was supposed to be “hard”. therefore, devaluing the accomplishment. It should not be in for people to abuse to easily get what is supposed to be the hardest achievement.
This isn’t exactly an apples to apples comparison but there are people in MCC who were checkedpointed on the LASO campaigns (except for reach) and either had to watch a cutscene or had to complete a tiny part of the last mission to receive the achievement.
The MCC laso playlist bugs weren’t patched until 2018 so there was tons of players who did not get them legitly but have the achievement. When I did all my LASO runs I did them legitly. At the end of the day I agree with others in the sense that the scorpion gun was probably a bug/oversight in the campaign but now that people already have the achievement I think it should just be left in the game for now.

Uh huh… I see you’re trying to “school” those that came before you. Let me ask you this. When completing your previous LASO achievements, did you ever use the Save and Quit glitch? Or, did you play as intended with the Iron Skull eliminating checkpoints.? Because I can tell you this. In the Mythic Community, Save and Quit was a BIG no-no.

Don’t mention it, brother. I discovered your guides during the Mythic map pack event where Bungie was giving away recon each week for beating levels on Mythic/LASO with the fastest time. Wouldn’t be able to beat a single mission until Halo 4 came out.
Honestly I wasn’t expecting to see the legend comeback to the forums and give his two cents on this topic. Can’t wait to see your LASO guides for
343i and Bungie both shouted out MythicTyrant and his guides for beating LASO. Bungie gave him and other LASO pioneers Recon armor back in the day when it was not available to the general public. 343i named the LASO achievements after them. All this is to say that 343i approve of the methods shown in his guides.
You are free to not want to use any glitches, all the power to you, however you need to stop pretending that your way is the only way.
I learned of this glitch after already beating Halo 1 and 2. Those were a nightmare the first time around especially because the aim assist skull being on, bandanna being off, and playlists losing progress. I would have loved to skip those back in the day. The other Halos were not as bad because you could still get the achievement in 4 player co-op. But hey, that trial of fire only made me better and let me be good enough to guide friends through after the patch.

Halo 3 was when i did my very first LASO and i did it by the books, without using ANY glitches/exploits. I went through pain and lots of sweat. Felt so good to unlock the recon armor for doing all the vidmaster challenges. A player who abuses bugs/glitches to complete their LASO could never know the same feeling. Theyre missing out.
doesnt matter if they shouted them out bungie was just a cool company interacting with their company why would they give any other response other than something positive??? lol. anyways its still cheating and makes it not legit. no how matter how much you desperately try to rationalize cheating.
