Is The Scorpion Gun Patched?!

I say just keep it in there till we get halo campaign co-op.

False Alarm! I just tested it this morning. If you follow General Kidds guide, you should be able to get it. The feature is still in the game. Thank God!

The weapon disappears from the cannon after you board the pelican.

Did you return to the area to check, or did you check the cannon after first entering the Outpost and it was not there?

If it turns out you had returned to the area after boarding the pelican - I encourage you to edit the title of your post or request the thread be deleted as to not spread misinformation.

I don’t know how the hell people are getting far enough on SLASO to even get the damn Scorpion gun; I’m going through hell just trying to get through the first level, even with the infinite nades & ammo; you get set back way too damn far with the checkpoint system in that game set-up.

Spamming Dynamo grenades helps and infinite rockets.

I know, that’s the strategy I started to use; when I ended to game and re-loaded it though, I got set back quite a ways. It’s going to be a pain in the a**.

Try to save a grunt or something for the last enemy of a room - grapple and melee him.

At the start of the second level you’ll get a sword which helps with this.

You only get checkpoints when you have full shields (and thanks to blind you don’t know when you get them, lol.)

Wonderful; no wonder I was having such a b**** of a time with it. Lol. Thanks for the info. :+1:

No problem! There’s a list of tips on TrueAchievements I’d recommend.

Big thing I gotta say is when you get the Scorpion Gun and Thruster - DO NOT thrust.

It glitches chief pretty bad and I had to restart a mission.

Good to know; I don’t think that was ever going to be an issue for me though. Of all the Campaign equipments, I used Thrusters the least.

Use shock nades to stun and then dump rockets into them. Repeat until one enemy left then melee them for shields/checkpoint.

Edit: someone already said it, so it’s obviously a decent strat.

ahh yes becuz adding forge isnt a billion times harder than removing one single small thing…

also yeah game developers don’t compartmentalize so no way they could do multiple things at once.

Something to note is that the grapple hook is your friend, same with bandanna and rockets I’m on level 5 already you’ll get through it. But something I noticed when you grapple certain enemies it gives you a second to hit a melee and get your shields back before being attacked very useful.

I agree, plus using bandana and just wrecking everything even on legendary is a funner experience than using this unnatural looking thing thats super OP

taking advantage of ā€œbugs:ā€ is never meant for the game. thats just an excuse for cheaters to cope. Youre not meant to cheat to complete the achievement.

The LASO achievements are named after the people who created, originally cleared, or set a record for beating the LASO difficulty (Nagato Make Moving Easy & Naked Tyrant). They used the glitches I mentioned. There is even an Achievement in MCC for clearing Halo 2 on legendary under 3 hours, which is impossible to do unless you glitch encounters, and this achievement is also named after the Halo 2 speed runner who broke the game to get the speed running record (Monopolized. You’re Joking, Devastating, & Goat Roped).

You are clearly ignorant on this subject matter.

If you use the scarab skull in halo 2 you can do just what you said.

But achievements and challenges are impacted.

With the obtainable scarab gun, as far as I know, achievements/challenges are not impacted. I cannot confirm this though.

This is true. The scarab gun skull deactivates most achievements in MCC.

Unless they stealth patched it in the last 2 days you can still do it, the pickup window is incredibly small and even without blind no promt shows up (despite guides showing a prompt I have never seen it pop up on PC) so they may have just removed that to make it less obvious. I just completed a LASO today that was session 3/3 over 3 days and I was able to pick it up at the start so maybe try again? The only campaign patch notes since release were on the 15th and I stated on the 16th. The notes on the 15th did not include any mention of the ā€œsecretā€ scorpion cannon gun being removed.

Now for the less relevant part:
As for your lashing out at 343 and saying they suck all the fun out, well, 343 may have messed up a bit but this is not one of those things. What they have messed up: Shock pistol is BS on LASO, enemy accuracy at range and detection range is inconsistent in the worst way, enemies sometimes can track your movement through camo perfectly, elites can hit you with their sword before they actually draw it, that rapid fire explosive turret was a mistake, vehicles are made of paper, hinters turn too quickly and have a BS rapid fire gun that occasionally can perfectly track you no matter how fast you move, oh and the biggest mistake was making Escheram the ā€œmainā€ bad guy and killing Atriox off-screen instead of just making him the big bad. (oh and some people think he is the guy in the post credits BUT look closely, Atriox has white hairs in his beard and white on his face, that last bit could be paint but unless they are going to say the ring lets you travel back in time it can’t be him and even if it is ā€œkillingā€ him off-screen was a bad move).
