I’m glad they patched it, it was broken
All LASO runs in Halo involve exploits and taking advantage of glitches. Otherwise they are fairly impossible.

I dont understand how some people are claiming its still there and some people say its not there anymore! Either your game hasnt installed latest update or if you had a save game with the scorpion tank gun equiped then it stays on that save file still…
People wishing they’d patch it are probably the same people wanting invincibility campaign glitches and the scarab gun patch. It’s a bit if fun, it’s down to the player if they use it. Cheapening or enhancing the experience is down to one’s own taste. I love it and can’t wait to use it in co-op with a mate and have a blast.

Two of my pals used the scorpion gun to complete game on laso and still have there achievements but after update i have went back and the gun is not there anymore?! my main issue here is these people who used it to complete laso campaign have done so and recieved that achievement, the complete campaign in under 8 hour achievement and the complete the game on legendary achievement but now without that tank gun the rest of us will struggle like hell to complete on laso! Just keep it in the game its fun and all we are getting out of it is a couple achievements not like we are exploiting in game currency and getting something that costs money for free

My game is updated all the way version 1.3266.27842.0.
I even started a fresh game on easy speed running to mission 3. Scorpion gun is still there. You might want to get better sources other than “my friend said”
You have to get the gun in mission 3. You cannot get it after.
Tested both on PC and Xbox

Are you able to go back anytime and grab this or do you have to start a new game and do it on the exact mission?! I will try myself tonight cant play laso though as i missed 1 skull on mission 14! Lots of people on youtube video comments claiming its not there for them so wondering if there doing something wrong or not When you start a fresh game what stuff carries over and what stuff resets? Eg collectables and gear etc?

You cannot go back anytime to the location and grab it. The only chance you have is during mission 3. If you get inside the pelican to end the mission without grabbing the gun than you’ve missed your chance and would have to start a new game.
Audio logs and skulls carryover. Everything else you’ll have to pick up again. Although there is no point in getting the armor chests if you have already unlocked all of them.

Yes im aware that there are a bunch of cheaters who arent skilled enough to do LASO the way it was meant to be and fairly.

Are you aware that LASO started out as Mythic and was a community made challenge (specifically made by MythicTyrant) before they became achievements? Taking advantage of those bugs is how they were “meant” to be done. I put meant in quotations because there is no right or wrong way to do it. The only goal is to beat the game with all the skulls on.

That was only left in because it was much harder to patch games in the past, and BxR (and other glitches) were baked fairly deep in there, so fixing them would’ve been much harder and potentially created worse issues.
Scorpion gun doesn’t really make LASO easier in this game since you get bandana skull. It only speeds it up a bit.
You get infinite shock grenades, so enemies basically don’t hit you while you dump rockets on them.
