Recently I’ve been experiencing longer wait times in matchmaking. I’ve also noticed on a few occasions where I play consecutive games matched up with the same pool of players. And regarding my playlist rank I’ve noticed that it’s all over the map now. When I was a Gold player in Team Arena I would always be going against those of similar rank. When I moved up to Platinum it’s all over the place, some games I’ve been in I’ve played people up to Diamond 6…and I’m just Platinum 1. Not really fun when you have a coordinated team of Diamonds wiping the map with you when you’re playing solo. I was just wondering if the population seems down to anyone else or if I’m the only one having issues? Thanks guys!

The Main reason your facing Diamond 6 is because of what I call the skill testing theory. Basically they’re trying to see if you’re capable of fighting them. I had this happen and played large amounts of higher tier Onyx ranked players and started to lose so I started to go back down closer to my level of play.
Well, it kinda makes sense… The higher you are in rank, the less players there will be, since i’d believe there would just be larger population in lower ranks then higher ranks. Ever notice how easy it is to find games when you’re playing placement matches? I play on my sisters account some times, she’s in Silver and Gold and I find games almost instant. I find the higher your rank, the harder it is to find games, as with people stating to do with the skill matching, it’s hard to match up a whole diamond group for example so its understandable some one be plat 6 and some would be onyx.
I understand what you’re saying, but does it really make sense given that the whole skill rating is based only on W/L? If I do good against them and my team doesn’t and we lose…then why does it matter?
I’m diamond and always seem to get an assortment of skill levels in my team. But usually the other team will also have a diamond to balance things. I don’t care really, the teams usually seem fairly balanced. Of course there’s the odd game where we get our -Yoinks!- kicked or totally dominate, but that’s the exception, not the rule.
