Is the pistol the same in both playlists?

is it the three shot, hold to auto-fire Beast on both the classic AND TU playlist or just classic with TU being the same pistol as in Reach?

It seems I’ve heard two different things so I’m looking for a little clarification.

The CE Pistol is just for the Anniversary gametype (aka classic). The zero bloom Mangum is something entirely different and only showed up in the TU beta playlist.

So, (sorry if I sound like an idiot) if I’m playing in the Anniversary playlist but not playing “classic”, ie- there are AA’s in the game, the pistol is the Reach pistol?

Yes.

If you want to beast, don’t hold to auto btw. All it does is make your accuracy garbage.
