Is the Oni Classified Thread in any way Cannon for the Halo series? I know you have two kinds of codes that can be found and used. You have the ones from Spartan Ops and you have the ones from the thread.

Hey as far as I know we have the Classified section on waypoint and ONI ist the “Halo CIA” there are codes u can enter on classified and those are hidden on Halo4 Maps or in Videos or so. Thats the easy thing but then we have the “Secret writingstyle” and i have no idea what it si about.

“ONI” is not the “Halo CIA”. It is the Office of Naval Intelligence just like it real life couterpart. They provide the Navy and the Navy ONLY with strategic intel to complete there missions.

Thanks I should have realiced that.
The ONI is divided in different sections. I think most Haloplayers only know about Section 3.
343 started a “game”: They hid codes in the Forum and some Users decoded these codes and spoted symbols in Halo 4 Maps and Spartan-Ops.
They “translated” thes into the Forunner Gylphs and put them in the right order so u can enter them on the console in the old Waypoint (still available on the 360)
to get rewards.

PS: I think most of this is somewaht right but not correct for people who realy know stuff about this topic. I try not to tell wrong stuff if I am wrong pls correct me.

As far as I know, section 3 (as known via classified codes and the forums threads) has been classified as canon. I don’t have the links / IRC quotes to hand, but the could be pulled if necessary or someone else can jump i with the details
