Is the 'Objective Results' challenge lying?

I kind of dread doing this challenge each week because it takes so long to do, primarily just because I get so many CTF games and there’s so many games where getting to the flag is hard for both sides and even killing the carrier can only be done by one person and blah blah blah.
Although I feel like that’s only because I have ‘Flag & Bomb’ selected for game modes to try and knock the challenge out as fast as I can.

“Why not do the other modes that the challenge mentions?” you ask? Well right before I start this thread, I did that, just like I’d done many other weeks for this challenge, and not only successfully did things for the criteria of those medals, I did them with nobody else around to share the glory, in case that’s a weird thing preventing them. A Territories game, I snuck around and captured two territories in a round all by myself. Proud moment for me. Got the medals saying I did and everything.
At the end of the game, for some reason those medals didn’t count to the progress of the challenge. Doesn’t do any Hill related medals I gain in King of the Hill, it doesn’t care what I manage to do with VIP’s, or what Brains I ‘Mmmm’ at.
Although for some reason it counts for Extraction games when I play competitive Halo 4 Squads, in the rare time I get that mode.

So I don’t know, am I doing something wrong? Is this just a me thing? I really don’t enjoy how often I get CTF games where nobody accomplishes anything, and Assault at times can be just as worse, but this challenge seems to only want to count the few medals only one player can seem to claim at a time in those Flag/Bomb modes.
I can handle taking a challenge slowly, but variety for my progressive suffering is nice!

The challenge is particularly bad at explaining which medals from which games count. If you are playing Halo 3, none of the medals from territories will count. An easy way to get these medals is to play H2A king of the hill and either kill players in the hill or kill players from within the hill.

halo CE, 2 and 2a Koth it’s pretty easy to get the medals. but i wouldn’t do any of these “challenges” (tasks might be the better term, since it’s not really challenges, it’s more filling up numbers) if i wouldn’t enjoy the gametype/game.

As others have mentioned, this is just a tedious challenge. It kinda forces you to play specific halo games. The quickest way I personally get it done is H2A king of the hill, which fortunately I find quite fun, but it is annoying that the same medals don’t carry over into the other Halo games. I love Halo 3 king of the hill as well, but completing this challenge there isnt even possible I dont think.

I have to agree that not enough objective medals count for the challenge. Usually H2A KOTH is the easiest to get the medals needed since killing from or in or some one in the hill counts.

Like others have said, most halo 3 medals don’t count. This is also a bigger issue in MCC where many medals don’t count.

As an example, the “Nice Work Dawg!” Achievement doesn’t track all assist medals for some reason. I’d suggest playing H2A KOTH, easily the fastest way to finish it.

If you just limit yourself to flag games, then it’s going to take a long time to get it done. I can usually get it done with a few games like H2A 3 plots or H4 Dominion/Extraction.

Yeah see I’m only intentionally limiting to flag/bomb games because also having the other objective modes selected, along with every game, it just tends to put me in Halo 3, so… If Halo 3 medals of those modes don’t count for some reason, that’s unfortunate and could also do with an adjustment to the description of the challenge itself in that case.

So alright, I just disabled Halo 3 and tried only territory/hill modes to see if they worked. First was a KotH in Reach, none of those medals counted. Disabled Reach. Second KotH was CE, was getting medals for things I don’t even think I was involved with and they counted so that was lovely. Third was Territories in 2:A, the couple I got there counted. Fourth was Territories in Classic 2, which didn’t.
And I know H4 counts the medals. Was at 9/10 for the challenge progress at that point, so one more KotH in 2:A did it for me.
But -Yoink!-. Either I’m completely misunderstanding what the definition of ‘Hill Defense/Offense’ or ‘Captured Territory’ means in Reach, 2 and 3, or they just refuse to work.
Kinda feel like a challenge claiming to work in every game, yet only works in 3 out of 6 of them for half the requirements probably shouldn’t be a Gold challenge for the week.

I prefer to do Halo 4 zone control games. It’s easy to get kill metals in KotH, and capture metals in Extraction if you know where the points are.

That is the nice thing about Halo MCC is that there are five different games that you can play to accomplish the various challenges when it’s objective specific. Good luck Spartan.
