I finally got back on ranked last night now that it has been reset. I played 10 games in a row to achieve a rank but I feel my rank was kind of low. Of the 10 games I played I did the best (highest score and kills, usually) in the first 9 games and we lost the 10th game. I was going, on average, 20/5 KD in each game and in the objective games even better with a score of over 2000 in each game (minus the last game) and I was given Gold 5 rank… I feel like beasting for 9 games straight and one lost game shouldn’t equal a G5 rank… I was onyx rank in H5 when I stopped playin H5 years ago and been mainly on MCC since. What does it take to be onyx in Infinite? All the kills and highest score for 10 games straight?

What was your Halo Infinite rank before the reset? The only thing that really matters is your MMR in this game.

I was Gold 6 before the reset and could not get any higher due to servers, teammates, bots, desync, etc. I’d go slightly up in progression by grinding all day then drop drastically with one loss, anyone who plays knows how annoying that is/was. Play all afternoon and barely move the bar, then lose one game and lose the whole days work plus some.
But ultimately I was playing a lot worse last season (getting use to the new game obviously). Now, I’m back to playing like I use to, yet it gives me a lower rank? I don’t understand it.
They said most players would end up a lower rank after the reset.
You may be doing the best on your team, but of you’re playing other players in that region then you’ll still be ranked there. If you keep dropping 20-5 games then you’ll rise up the ranks very quickly.
I figured by playing a lot better now, in the new rank reset, I would finally get a higher rank initially. I was barely going even/positive with previous ranked games, but now I’m back to pwning and I got a lower rank lol makes no sense to me
They predicted a 6 tier drop for most players so to only lose 1 isn’t bad and you certainly shouldn’t be too bothered about it.
Definitely not bothered, Ultimately I don’t care what my rank is I just like to play, but I just thought it was strange I’m back to playing a lot better again and am starting a tier lower than when I was top tier trash a month+ ago lol.
That’s good…I couldn’t care less about my rank either. All I want to do is play and enjoy a stable fair game…and we haven’t been getting that at all with Halo Infinite.
