Does anyone know if the carbine is replacing the needler rifle.
Honestly I liked the needler rifle as I found it unique how you could have
a needler explosion when someones shields were down.
I like the carbine but it would be awesome if they had both.
Idk they removed the carbine in reach but are they removing the new needler rifle.
Its not a big deal im just curious

I liked the needle rifle, they kept the dmr so I don’t see why not. But then again, the carbine just functions so similar to the needle rifle.

Needle rifle was terrible against vehicles compared to the DMR. It either needs to improve, or get lost.

im not saying its bad in the game or anything im just saying that i like
both weapons

well the DMR shouldn’t have been effective against vehicles anyway so in my opinion the Needle Rifle was a bit more balanced.
It would have been cool to have it, but it would have been quite hard to balance it with the 4 other precision weapons.
Excuse me? The Needle Rifle tried to replace the Carbine. It didn’t work. 
Actually, the Needle Rifle was moreover the replacement of the Carbine from Halo 3 to Reach, now it seems that the Carbine is back in place of the Needle Rifle in Halo 4.
I loved the Needle Rifle and I hate to see it go, but if I had to choose, I’d go with the Carbine any day. If the Carbine somehow allowed supercombine explosions, it’d be nearly flawless.

You are correct, but the inequality of the DMR and Needle Rifle against vehicles made the Needle Rifle the terrible one. The game doesn’t need terrible weapons, it needs good weapons with good vehicle health mechanics.

Seems to function more like the NR though. Even has the same reticle (hopefully a placeholder).

Yeah but if the carbine is in halo 4 and the needler rifle isnt. Then im pretty sure the carbine is replacing it.

the carbine is not replacing the needle rifle because the was no needle rifle in halo 3 and halo 4 is the continuation to halo 3 not halo reach

i understand what your saying based on the games order but im talking about multiplayer. Halo 4 multiplayer still resembles reach. Also if you want to get technical then why didnt they scrap the dmr if that isnt in halo 2 or 3?
The Needle Rifle was replaced by the Covenant Carbine since Halo 2, if you follow the Halo story timeline.
Besides that…there are like 100 other precision weapons now, so adding one more wouldn’t have hurt.
It was a cool weapon in Halo: Reach, but I won’t be missing it.
