I have an extra $20 today and I was considering buying the map pack alone (don’t really care enough to get the game). Should I? I haven’t played Reach very much since the introduction of the crappy community maps and I just have this feeling that I’ll never be playing this maps if I buy them.
You’d be better off buying Halo CEA. The maps are good, but having the campaign handy is nice. I’ve played a lot more campaign than multiplayer so far. First game of MM was a 1-Flag CTF on Hang 'em High. Two of my teammates quit right when the game started. That was not a fun way to start off my favorite map of all time.

But that’s $20 more and I don’t really want Halo CEA: I want to play Reach (preferably, fixed Reach, but you get what you get I guess).
The maps are good. There are two versions of each map, a classic version that’s a near perfect remake, and then a new version with added passageways. Headlong is the best map (IMO) in the pack. Gauss hog spawns in it in the classic version, I think it’s the only map where it spawns.
Gameplay is a little different from standard Reach gameplay. Bleed-through on the shields is in all Anniversary playlists. The classic playlist/gametypes have the three-shot kill pistol. Overshield and invis spawn on the maps in the classic versions.
My only gripe is how brown Hang 'em High and Headlong are.
In my honest opinion, it’s worth 20 bucks just for Hang 'Em High.
Not really.

Get CEA.
Comes with the game with campaign and Match making. Comes with limited avatar items, Comes with an unlockable skull. comes with a free map pack card to get all new maps from CEA on reach. And in case you delete your reach CEA maps, you have the full disc handy. :] Also, think of all the achievements man. And all the terminal codes that get you 100k+ Cr. It’s worth WAY more than $40 (Im not sure how much it is in america or where ever you are.)
I only paid 30 ^^ also, 48 hours of free Xbox live gold membership for the days that you don’t feel like going to your gamestop to get new.

I havne’t played reach in nearly 6 months. I bought anniversary, played up through the first 3 levels, it’s halo 1… Hopped online, the MP feels as similar to H1 as we are going to get. The maps are awesome! Prisoner, Derelict, Damnation, hang em high, beaver creek… All of them… Totally worth the 20 bucks. I spent 40 on the game and I’m getting my money’s worth on REach. I play it for an hour everyday on my lunch and wish it was longer!
They are worth the 20 if you want some fun, re-made, BALANCED maps
I’d say it was worth it, getting to relive the old days.
Playing split screen with friends still murdering them, now over Xbox-Live on the same maps… Its really priceless, I bought the game I have no complaints. If you have buddies you used to play with get them and the map pack will be worth more than your 20$.
I play both the DLC and the campaign. Both are worth the money. I quite enjoy the Anniversary playlists and rarely leave them now when I play MM. Quitters happen. I associate that with gamers that don’t/haven’t played Halo: Reach and got CEA and were playing the maps.
Unless they’re going to start dropping those maps into the bigger playlists, no. Anniversary playlists are pretty limited and get old pretty quick.

Yeah, I totally agree with you. Or they should put in some more remakes from Halo: Reach like reflection, pinnacle, and maybe make some changes to asylum to make it more Halo 2ish and there’s more. Because playing the same 4 maps gets boring pretty fast.
There are 6 maps and yes they are the most fun ever to play. You’ll really regret not geting them. The maps change their layout depending on the gametype which is a lot of fun, keeps you guessing.
Honestly, its worth it. The maps are amazing, very very detailed graphics compared to all other maps in Reach, Buy it man, you’ll enjoy it =)

i thinked that to, but the day it came out, i couldnt resist play the campaing again.
id pay 20 bucks just to get to play on playlist. its very worth it.
However i know its 20bucks for the card, but u know tis onle 1200 pts rite?
If you take into account of the price for a map pack of 3 maps (and the Anniversary map pack has 7) then that would mean that the map pack is basically worth $23.33. But they’re selling it for $20.
Yeah, it’s worth it.

Well, by that logic, these maps are horrible. You’ll hate them.

Not true at all. I think he means maps made in forge, and I dislike them as well. Its seeing the same textures over and over again which make my eyes bleed. But this map pack contains my favorite maps Reach has ever had on offer. Headlong alone makes it worth it.
if it actually cost $20, it would be worth it. But its $15, so it even more worth it.
1200 msp = $15.00
1600 msp = $20.00
