Ok so as you all know Cortana as a villain was either a bad idea, or horrible execution. It completely invalidates Halo 4s very sad ending. Halo 5s story plays out like Cortana just got lost or ran off, instead of her sacrificing herself. So imo the only way Cortana can regain any character she lost in Halo 5 is the logic plague, or remnants of rampancy. " Rusty, Cortana touched the Domain and now she’s all better!" Cure alls/resurrections almost never work well with stories. Dragon Ball is an exception, but Halo is not Dragon Ball.
Back to the logic plague, I know that the H4 writers at 343 know how to write tragedies (Cortana in H4) So I feel they could make this work. It could spawn new interactions with the Warden and herself, because we all know that guy is whipped. And it would give Chief a second chance at saving Cortana. Because John still wants to save her, even though she’s trying to become SpaceStalin.
That’s my idea for how cortana’s character could be somewhat redeemed in Halo 6. I understand that it might be too parallel to Halo 4s storytelling , but it would draw more emotion than most of Halo 5. Well if you wanna discuss this down below, please add to the conversation. I think the only way to redeem Cortana is if the Halo 5 Cortana isn’t really her. Maybe it’s something impersonating her. i know it’s a stretch and wouldn’t actually work, but they should have let her RIP.

Impersonation might be possible, since we don’t know if another AI could take control of her when she connects to the domain, but that’s highly unlikely. I can understand that 343 found difficulty in writing Halo without Cortana, since she was a very relevant plot point in Halo 3, Reach, and 4. But yes they should’ve respected their own writing and let Cortana rest.
343 has 0 clue what they’re doing story wise.
Had this been H2 we would have at least has some clue as to what was going to happen in H3 and the events of H1 mattered

I would have been happy to have Halo 5 follow Hunt The Truth. i pictured Chief and a rebel force fighting ONI. They wouldn’t have needed her for that. I guess they are smarter than me:)

why must i easter egg hunt and get outside media just to understand what the story? It shouldn’t need extra material, it should tell a complete story in and of itself. All i need to know about the story should be shown/ told to me within the same story.

Ohhh I see what you mean. Yeah 343 has just spread out the mythos to make it difficult to find. Not as bad as those cards in destiny, but at the point where I was very confused in my first play through of H4.
It’s probably the best chance they had at making Cortana’s motives sensical, but it requires them to cheat a bit since if Cortana has the Logic Plague then it was given to her in a way not like it was described in the Forerunner Saga and you’d figure the Warden, guardian of the Domain, would be able to sniff it out of Cortana.
Lol the last chance was that story we just had, now we are still playing just because
