Is the Limited Edition really that limited?

I notice it’s sold out at several retailers. Is that it? No more copies coming?

I hope so, but I doubt it. I can still find Halo Reach Legendary editions at Walmart. Hopefully the same won’t happen here.

This is why I pre-ordered mine back in March. Honestly I hope it is now impossible to get a limited edition.

I hope it stays hard to find and is actually a LIMITED EDITION.

Wow, what a bunch of selfish folks. It’s not like this is going to be some great collectable, so why do you care if everyone who wants one gets one? Are you buying extras thinking you can sell them for a nice profit later?

Not being selfish but I just feel that people should have done there preorders a long time ago, not 3 weeks before launch. its first come first serve.

Its not like it has to be paid off in full because then i would understand. But they seriously had MONTHS to go put a few bucks down on it.

sorry to seem like a giant jerk.

i love you.

Here in uk no retailers have sold out so doubt it’s that limited just more expensive

im tired of seeing these LE threads… its not even worth it anyway wait a couple of months and look for it then

This is my exact thinking.

I haven’t been impressed with 343i and wanted to know more about what I’d be getting before I ordered it.

Wait, we’re selfish because we want a LIMITED EDITION item to be LIMITED? Limited Edition items used to be TRUELY limited. Meaning once they sold out, they were gone. There shouldn’t be copies left sitting in Walmart months after release.

With the way these things work, I figured it was obvious that “Limited edition” and what not wasn’t ACTUALLY Limited, it was more along the lines of More expensive because of neat stuff taht a fan may enjoy.

While I am not denying that I’d feel awefully good knowing I managed to get something that was ACTUALLY limited, I won’t be so selfish as to actually WISH that only so many people could get it. I’d want everyone who enjoys Halo and wants Halo 4 to be able to get the Limited Edition. And that the game gets the proper support it deserves (and from what I’ve played seems like It’s a mighty fine investment).

P.S. Will beamish be in Halo 4? I gotta know~

Selfish as in wanting other people to not be able to have something you have.

Frankly, I think it’s a bit unfair if this is truly a limited edition product that’s limited to quantities insufficient to meet demand even before release since historically “limited” editions of products like this were not so limited. You can still buy the “limited” editions of Halo 3 and Halo Reach, for God’s sakes.

Now all of a sudden they’re playing by a new set of rules and no one is supposed to care? Oh well, as I said, I haven’t been impressed by 343i, and I’ll just chalk this up to yet another example of why I say that.

I wouldn’t chalk this up to 343’s fault… I mean it’s Halo 4… Brand new trilogy. First numbered halo with chief in like half a decade… the halo fan base was pent up, ever since we first laid eyes on the legendary ending of halo 3 we’ve wanted to know what that planet was and now we wanna go there… so I’m not surprised things are going sold out.

Either they deliberately limited production to less than what they thought they could sell or they severely underestimated demand. Either way, 343 is responsible. But who knows, maybe they’ll produce an extra batch to meet the demand.

Thats why its called Limited Edition! There isn’t going to be anymore, after this the only you could get your hands on it would be buying it used.

^This person gets it! Otherwise 343i would have named it; Collector’s Edition, Special Edition, Etc. With the intention of having mass quantities of that version of the game.

Hence why it’s called LIMITED. That means when it’s gone, it’s GONE.

Calling it limited and it not being limited isn’t going to work for some people. I personally would want anyone who wanted limited to have it but I also like knowing that what I would be holding was produced in limited quantities thus making feel special

If you look at the content it’s not as if the limited edition really holds anything that feels limited or exclusive other than the little lore tidbits and the Steelbook.

This would be fine if this had been true historically, but it hasn’t been. You can still limited edition releases of Halo 3 and Reach. Sure, you can argue they should have been more limited, but regardless of what should have been, given that they weren’t I don’t see why anyone would expect this one to be sold out weeks before release.
