Is the hologram the best AA?

The jet pack is nice for finishing a kill, or escaping a grenade. but its weak compared to reach. Active camo has improved from reach, but u are stationary . Promethean vision is good but u have to be very tactful which may slow some players down. The hard light sheild is decent if u can use it well. The hologram is arguably the best armor ability.I dont care how good you are everyone falls for the hologram , even if its just a split second which is valuable in halo 4. I clip after clip , of ppl falling for holograms back to back . The beauty of the hologram , which also makes it most valuable , is that the hologram shows up on the opponents radar.

I generally use camo, because it makes me feel like a badass predator but TBH it doesn’t really get me killed less so I should probably switch it up.

It depends. Agaisn’t high level players isn’t that useful. When dealing with DMR or BR players also not. At open maps is even worst. It’s good to sue it at small maps.

In Campaign, Spartan OPs and Multiplayer, I find it the most useful AA.

i use the hologram on almost every loadout, its great. even against people with promethian vision, see em activate it early, send your hologram in first and free kill

I like camo the best. Its great because you can get the first jump on someone giving you that edge because they didn’t see you at first. Especially good when playing objective game types when defending.

Thrust like a boss…

The fact that your reticule automatically sticks to holograms that walk past can be extremely annoying, but I guess that makes it a good choice. I still, however, use Promethean Vision all the time. Even if it’s just to check whether or not I’m going to get yoinked in the -Yoink- anytime soon.

I have to try the hologram more to see how to best use it.

Besides my typical DMR loadout I have tons of fun with a suppressor and promethean vision on some maps. I get a ton of kill streaks with that combo.

> promethian vision is by far the best… you can exactly tell where your opponents are… with some map awareness you are able to chose the best route to flank your opponents, you can even tell what weapon they are using!

> i never liked the jetpack it makes you way too vulnerable, camo slows you down too much… imo no other AA holds up to what PV offers

At first, I would’ve agreed. But, remember. Using Promethian vision is highly visible on their motion sensor. So they likely know exactly where you are the moment you use it. I often find promethian users to play overly aggressive simply because they feel they have the “jump” on me.
Not to say it isn’t a great AA. But, I feel I should remind people.

Jetpack is better than people think. I wouldn’t consider it best though. It’s like having a trick up your sleeve. Use it conservatively and you can access flanking routes your foes didn’t expect. I have a jetpack class (which does great in oddball), with frags and the explosive spec. Flanked entire enemy teams more than once is objective modes, or linear firefights.
Still, once they realize you have a jetpack. They’ll keep an eye out.

The other 2 I find people neglecting are the hardlight shield and thrusters. Though I’m pretty sure we all quickly realized how thrusters simply come in handy in a variety of “tight” situations. I’ve seen the odd clever moves pulled with the hardlight shield (Or my brothers ability to beat any enemy in a melee engagement with it in SO/Campaign, even on legendary). So I won’t discount it.

Man, do I have stories for holograms… They ARE effective. But in recent matches I found myself figuring them out before my opponent got in firing range. It is incredibly useful. But seeing as thrusters, regens, shields, and jet packs (Sometimes, like if the enemy has a CQC weapon or rockets), can provide immediate aid in a head on firefight situation. I wouldn’t place it as the best. Simply because in certain situations. I’d rather have another ability.

Coming to the conclusion that they all truly do have their “niches”. (I mean, I don’t have to mention Camo. We’ve all been there) I’ll continue to have abilities spread among my classes, as to which I find myself wanting the most when I play that class. I particularly enjoy the jetpack/grenade combo for objective modes (I know, Noob tactic eh?). It’s effectiveness cannot be argued. So I guess I’ll take the one jetpack vote. Since it opens up a world of map movement to the user that’s extremely useful for cutting off that flag carrier, or surprising the oddball group.

I personally find the hologram very easy to combat as you can generally see by the way the hologram is running if it is indeed a hologram, also, 8/10 times you can see whoever is using it, deploy it, so it’s a no for m, to easy to combat,

Unfortunately, i have to say Camo is probably the best AA in H4, as the jet-pack is too weak, the shield tends to only delay an inevitable death, PV is negated by the stealth perk, the auto turret is too easy to kill, and the thruster is as useful as a chocolate grenade!!

If you use active cammo then you ned to go kill yourself

a great head shot coupled with jet pack is a deadly combo. The trick is not to stay in the sky to long. Get your kill and move on.

To be honest, I don’t find any of the Armor Abilities that useful. If I still had to pick sprint, I probably would.

I really wanted to like the thruster pack and even though I use it, I wouldn’t miss it if I didn’t have it.

I find the Hardlight shield the most effective.

At long distances I can easily hop back into safety. People tend waste a lot of ammo on it. It’s great for dealing with Overcharged plasma pistols. It deflects basicly everything, last night I pulled it up just in time to survive a laser without a scratch, gauss hog, no problem. Not sure about rockets and scorpion, if it deflects the projectile.

I use it to be a distraction, seems like it’s a player magnet, as soon as I pull it out, everyone is shooting at me, or atleast looking at me, so my team mates get the upper hand.

Depends on gametype and map. Hologram is great at fooling noobs but it rarely gets anyone more experienced even if it is convincing. You learn to tell the difference. I find its best use is when running to suddenly crouch and send a hologram simultaneously. Effectively makes you look like you never stopped on their motion sensor. Either that or to get someone to waste a rocket.

On large maps active camo is king. Camo up, get the first shots in longer range. Close quarters its not so useful.

On close quarters maps with lots of turns and corners regen field is fantastic. Skirmish, fall back, regen field, re-engage with full shields. Usually a guaranteed kill.

I dont care so much for anything else. I think we can all agree thruster pack is nearly useless.

On larger maps I always use Hardlight shield. It has save me from death so many times when I one shot and I just edge my way slowly back out of the opponents line of view and behind cover.

For small maps, PV or invis for objective. Jetpack for Abandon as it maps that map so much easier to move about on

Rockets and scorpiions will turn you to paste, dont even try it

I prefer the Autosentry, I like how it works, such as the little bit of cover and distractions it provides.

It’s useful to protect a flag, a base, a corridor you don’t want to keep an eye on at all times.

Hell I trust it to cover my back more than I trust my teammates, most of the time.
